Hawthorn v Port Adelaide - University of Tasmania Stadium - 1:45pm

Hawthorn’s up and down season continued last week as they were beaten soundly by Richmond and return to Launceston to host the Power as they seek to once again even their win-loss ledger. The 4-5 Hawks are in danger of losing touch with the top eight with a loss, especially considering the 8th placed Power would give themselves a two-game buffer over Alastair Clarkson’s men.

The two teams met in Launceston last season where the Hawks were able to squeeze out a 64-61 win and continue their amazing record at their home away from home. Hawthorn have won 25 of their last 28 matches at University of Launceston Stadium, but after their narrow loss last season and their solid form away from Adelaide Oval this season, the Power will fancy their chances against a Hawks team who will be without ruckman Ben McEvoy, while also gaining some key players of their own.

Key Stat: 14 of Hawthorn's last 16 Saturday home matches have gone UNDER the total match points line.

Tip: Port Adelaide

Best bet: Port Adelaide 1-39

Value bet: Port Adelaide +4.5/Under 158.5

Western Bulldogs v North Melbourne - Marvel Stadium - 2:10pm

Looking to square the ledger at 5-5, the Western Bulldogs will attempt to heap more misery on the 17th-placed North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Neither of these sides was victorious last weekend, with the Dogs blown away late during their 44-point loss in Geelong after getting within nine-points, while the Roos booted the last four goals against the Swans but ultimately fell just short in Hobart, leaving them at 2-7 on the season.

The two clubs have played some classic recent encounters with each of their last four decided by a margin of seven points or less. North Melbourne won just one of those contests and, ranking 17th in the competition for points conceded, will likely need to lift its defensive output in order to buck that trend. That certainly won’t be easy when considering the Bulldogs have scored 89+ points in each of their last three outings – two of them victories.

Key Stat: The underdogs have covered the line in each of the last five matches between the Western Bulldogs and Kangaroos.

Tip: Western Bulldogs

Best bet: Western Bulldogs -6.5

Value bet: Western Bulldogs 1-39

Adelaide v West Coast - Adelaide Oval - 4:35pm

An enticing matchup with 6th and 7th doing battle at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday afternoon in search of a crucial victory. The Eagles currently occupy 6th position thanks to three straight wins, although they’ve been less than convincing in those victories culminating in a come from behind win against the Demons last week. The Crows had their four-game winning streak ended by the Lions by a solitary point last week, despite fighting back from a 26-point deficit and another close contest could be on the cards with the teams splitting their last 10 meetings.

The most recent of those contests went the way of the Crows 88-78 at this venue during Round 15 of last season, as Taylor Walker (22 disposals, three goals) and Matt Crouch (32 disposals, nine tackles) led their side back from 20 points down in the fourth quarter. Adelaide will be hopeful Crouch returns for this encounter after he was unable to travel to Brisbane due to a hip complaint.

Key Stat: West Coast has won each of its last three Saturday matches as an underdog.

Tip: West Coast

Best bet: West Coast +10.5

Value bet: West Coast 1-39
