St Kilda v Port Adelaide - Jiangwan Stadium- 2:20pm

The annual match in China this year features a new team with St Kilda making the trip to Shanghai to take on the Power on Sunday afternoon. It shapes as a crucial midtable battle as both teams look to notch their 6th win of the season and move ahead on the win/loss ledger.

The Saints are looking to snap a seven-game losing streak against the Power, having not beaten the South Australian club since their Grand Final seasons of 2010 and 2011. They are however coming off a win after downing the Blues by 13-points in a low-scoring battle, while the Power played in their own dour affair, coming off a 31-point loss to the Hawks where they only managed to kick seven goals for the match and their lowest score since Round 20, 2017. Ruckman Scott Lycett has made the trip for the Power after missing last week’s loss as has Ryan Burton who’s also available for selection after missing the last three weeks with a hamstring injury. Captain Jarryn Geary is likely to return from a five-week absence in a boost for the Saints.

Key Stat: Port Adelaide has won seven consecutive matches against St Kilda

Tip: Port Adelaide - $1.48* (Ladbrokes)

Best bet: Port Adelaide -11.5

Value bet: Port Adelaide -10.5/Under 158.5

Essendon v Carlton - MCG - 2:20pm

Traditional rivals Essendon and Carlton resume hostilities on Sunday afternoon as they desperately seek a much-needed win. Both teams have been horribly out of form with just one combined win from their last five respective matches, which was thanks to Essendon beating Fremantle in Round 9.

Carlton has the recent edge over Essendon winning three of their last five, including last year’s only meeting and the home team winning all five matches, which bodes well for the Bombers this week. All five of those have been decided by under 24 points, with four being decided by under 15. It’s an important three weeks before the bye for the Blues who host the Lions and Bulldogs after this clash. If they’re to come up empty and not win a single game from the three, Brendon Bolton may not see out the season. They’ve been boosted with injuries suffered last week by Bombers star pair Jake Stringer and Dylan Shiel, but the latter hasn’t been ruled out yet and may still take his place on Sunday. For the Blues, veteran Dale Thomas won’t play due to a club-imposed suspension, but they may regain Liam Jones after missing the last three matches with concussion.

Key Stat: Essendon has a 3-10 W/L record at the MCG from 2018 onwards

Tip: Carlton - $2.70* (Ladbrokes)

Best bet: Carlton +15.5

Value bet: Either team under 15.5

West Coast v Western Bulldogs - Optus Stadium - 5:20pm

After trailing by 33-points during the early stages of the 3rd quarter against the Crows last week, the Eagles responded kicking 10 of the last 12 goals of the match to bring up their 4th consecutive win and move to 7-3 on the season. This week they host the hot and cold Bulldogs who continued their inconsistency last week by losing to the Kangaroos when favourites.

It hasn’t been a tag that has been kind to the Dogs, having lost three of their four games they’ve started favourites in this season. This week’s clash won’t be one of them as they look for their first victory over the Eagles since their famous elimination final win in 2016 at Subiaco by 47-points on the way to their premiership. They will be without Mitch Wallis and Hayden Crozier who were both injured in the loss to North Melbourne, allowing the chance for their mid-season draft recruit and former Cat, Ryan Gardner to make his debut for the club. West Coast had a host of stars miss training on Tuesday but should be right to go come Sunday with Chris Masten also available for selection.

Key Stat: West Coast has a 27-11 W/L record as a home team in day matches from 2013 onwards.

Tip: West Coast - $1.22* (Ladbrokes)

Best bet: West Coast 1-39
