Gold Coast v St Kilda - Riverway Stadium - 1:45pm

The Suns and Saints meet in Townsville on Saturday afternoon as Riverway Stadium hosts its first ever AFL match. The Suns are desperate to regain the form which saw them win three of their opening four games of the season and are desperately looking to snap their eight-game losing streak in front of their North Queensland fans.

The Saints enjoyed a bye last week after returning from China with a 70-point belting at the hands of Port Adelaide. Making matters worse, skipper Jarryn Geary who was returning for his first match in six weeks, broke his leg and will now miss the remainder of the season.

The flu that wiped out many players and coaches in the lead up to that game has now gone as the Saints look to make a finals push in the second half of the season, winning this contest will restore parity at 6-6. The last two matches between the teams have been absolute thrillers with the Saints sneaking home by two-points and one-point respectively.

The latter was back in Round 1 where the Suns finished stronger, but ultimately fell short by the barest of margins and will be looking to reverse that result and record their first win over St Kilda since 2016.

Key Stat: Gold Coast has lost 22 of its last 23 matches on a Saturday

Tip: St Kilda

Best bet: St Kilda -8.5

Value bet: St Kilda over 24.5

Fremantle v Port Adelaide - Optus Stadium - 4:35pm

A crucial clash on Saturday afternoon as the 8th placed Power travel west to take on the 9th placed Dockers at Optus Stadium. Fremantle and Port Adelaide enter Round 13 separated by just 1.9% on the ladder, with the visitors slightly ahead.

That lead comes as a result of Port’s dominant 70-point win over St Kilda in China prior to their bye last weekend. Fremantle also entered its week off on a huge high thanks to Michael Walters, after he provided late heroics for the second straight fixture to hand his side a four-point victory over Collingwood at the MCG, their second successive by under a goal.

The Dockers were victorious when the Power last visited this venue, triumphing 59-50 in a terribly low scoring affair, despite missing skipper Nat Fyfe. Fremantle head in as slight favourites on Saturday part to its strong 4-1 record as the home team this season and the last six encounters between the teams having been won by the home team.

Key Stat: Fremantle has won each of its last 16 Saturday home matches following a win.

Tip: Fremantle

Best bet: Fremantle -4.5

Value bet: Fremantle -4.5/Over 161.5

Carlton v Western Bulldogs - Marvel Stadium - 7:25pm

Carlton enter Saturday night’s clash against the Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium full of confidence after their stunning come from behind win over the Lions last week, provided them with just their second win of the season in David Teague’s first game as head coach and will be looking to make it a third against a team they’ve already defeated in 2019.

Carlton’s 15-point  victory against Brisbane proved nothing short of inspired, as they came from 37 points down by kicking 11 of the final 14 goals. Patrick Cripps put forth a performance for the ages during that encounter, recording 38 disposals and four goals – all of which were scored in the second half.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs had the weekend off in Round 12, potentially allowing them to hit the reset button on a season that appears to be slipping away. The Dogs entered the bye without a victory in three matches, having most recently been on the wrong side of a 61-point drubbing by the Eagles in Perth.

Carlton scored a season-high 101 during its 44-point victory over the Bulldogs earlier in 2019, indicating that the 17th-ranked Bulldogs defence could be stretched again.

Key Stat: The underdogs have covered the line in each of the Western Bulldogs' last eight matches at Marvel Stadium.

Tip: Carlton

Best bet: Carlton +12.5

Value bet: Carlton 1-39
