Western Bulldogs v Collingwood - Marvel Stadium - 3:20pm

The Bulldogs fell over the line against the Blues last week and will be hoping for a stronger outing when they face a rested Collingwood on Sunday afternoon at Marvel Stadium.

The Pies can jump back to 2nd place on the ladder with a win and are coming off a 41-point win on Queen’s Birthday prior to their bye. The teams have already met once this season back in Round 4 when the Pies won a dour affair by 14-points. The teams combined to kick just six goals in the first half before each side kicked seven second half goals each, which allowed the Pies to make it consecutive victories over the Dogs, who had beaten them on the previous five occasions.

It will be interesting to see how Collingswood respond after the betting scandal involving Jaidyn Stephenson during the week. Last year’s NAB Rising Star winner copped a 22-match suspension (12 suspended) meaning he will miss the rest of the regular home and away season and be unavailable to play at any level. The Bulldogs will be without Tom Liberatore after he injured his knee in the win over Carlton, but avoided any damage to his ACL that kept him sidelined in all but one game of 2018.

Key Stat: Collingwood has a 1-4 W/L record in day matches at Marvel Stadium from 2015 onwards.
