North Melbourne v Hawthorn - Marvel Stadium - 7:50pm

While North Melbourne’s season is now done and dusted after three straight losses, Hawthorn will look to keep their finals aspirations alive in the must-win contest on Friday night at Marvel Stadium on Friday night.

Both sides were are coming off losses last weekend; the Kangaroos fell 121-72 to the Eagles in Perth, while the Hawks were defeated by the red-got Lions in Launceston. This will mark the second meeting between these clubs in 2019, with the first going the way of the Hawks by a 16-point margin at the MCG.

Luke Breust and Chad Wingard combined to kick eight goals during that encounter in order to lead Hawthorn back from a 27-point second-quarter deficit. The Roos are likely to relish the opportunity to return to this venue given five of their last seven matches have been played interstate.

Each of North Melbourne’s last four fixtures at Docklands has come against sides currently above Hawthorn on the ladder, resulting in three victories and a last-ditch loss to Essendon.

Key Stat: 11 of the last 12 Friday night matches at Marvel Stadium have been won by the home team.
