GWS v Hawthorn - UNSW Canberra Oval - 7:50pm

One win outside the top four entering Round 21, GWS will be desperate to avoid an upset when they host Hawthorn at UNSW Canberra Oval in their first Friday night fixture of the season.

The Giants survived by the skin of their teeth against the Swans in the Sydney derby last weekend, as a contentious non-call late in the fourth quarter aided that two-point victory.

Toby Greene continued his outstanding form during the win, with his 34 disposals marking the third time in four weeks that he has reached 30 since moving into the midfield and was aptly supported by Jacob Hopper in a best afield display.

Hawthorn endured a less successful outing last weekend, falling by 22-points to North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium despite leading by as many as 27 points in the first quarter.

That result was a second consecutive defeat meaning they will likely need to win their remaining three matches if they’re to sneak into the finals, which may prove difficult having never beaten the Giants outside of Victoria from their three attempts.

Key Stat: GWS has won 10 of its past 11 matches at UNSW Canberra Oval.
