Geelong v Collingwood - MCG - 7:50pm

Set to meet in the finals for the first time since the 2011 Grand Final, Geelong and Collingwood will do battle at the MCG on Friday night for a spot in the preliminary final. These sides most recently met during the opening round of 2019 where the Cats prevailed by seven-points in a tight low-scoring contest, which is expected again on Friday night.

The last three meetings have all been Geelong victories and have all been defensive struggles with the 72-65 scoreline from Round 1 the highest total match points of the aforementioned games. The Cats began the season winning 11 of their first 12 matches, however since the bye have won just half of their 10 matches and are an alarming 1-11 from their last 12 matches coming off a bye week.

The Magpies will head in confident, having won four straight to finish the season thanks in part to a relatively soft schedule, but will welcome back some key personnel in what also marks skipper Scott Pendlebury’s 300th AFL match.

Key Stat: Collingwood has won five of its last seven Friday night matches by a margin of 1-39 points.

Tip: Collingwood

Best bet: Collingwood 1-39

Value bet: Collingwood +4.5/Under 149.5
