NBA Week 13 in review
A review of the key storylines happening around the NBA and how it will affect teams into the future.
There’s money to be made in Minnesota
The wolf pack is rolling here midseason. We saw the Wolves inflict yet another loss on the Thunder, taking them down rather convincingly 104-88
The Timberwolves also embarrassed the Cavs leading to the idea that they may be turning a corner under the veteran leadership of Jimmy Butler.
With that said, their odds to win their division are astounding. They are 5 games up on the Trailblazers and Thunder and are paying even odds.
The Value is on the Wolves, especially considering the Thunder may never figure out how to play together.
Tip: Northwest Division: MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES
There’s money to be made in Miami
Six wins in a row and a cohesion that has defined Heat teams of the past sees Miami race up the Eastern Conference standings.
With 8 wins in their last 10 games, Miami is paying about $2.70 to win their division. Their nearest competition, the Wizards are a game behind and just haven’t looked like genuine contenders this season. Nobody is to say the Wizards aren’t good, but if we’re talking value, that’s right there with Miami.
With the Southeast Division practically being a two horse race, get behind Coach Spo and his crew to cause an upset when all is said and done.
Tip: Southeast Division: MIAMI HEAT
A review of some trades that are looking likely based on the rumours we’ve been hearing throughout the NBA.
Portland Trailblazers – looking to get a wing that can help Lillard and McCollum with scoring but also hold his own in defence. Kent Bazemore from the Hawks is the man on their radar.
Utah Jazz – The Jazz are looking to pickup resident bad boy Nikola Mirotic. Mirotic is said to be a big fan of Coach Snyder.
Los Angeles Lakers – This is more of a clear the decks rather than an acquisition. The Lakers are looking to offload Jordan Clarkson to make more room for free agents in the offseason.
Minnesota Timberwolves – The Wolves are looking to bolster their depth by picking up Nets forward Demarre Carroll. His defensive prowess makes him an attractive trade candidate for any contending team.
