NBA WCF Game 2 Preview and Tips

The Warriors pulled away from the Rockets in Game 1. Should we expect the same in Game 2?

Golden State Warriors v Houston Rockets - 11:00AM Thursday

It was tied at half-time but the Warriors pulled away in the 2nd half to win Game 1 by 13 points, despite an impressive performance from James Harden who had 41 points.

The Rockets again start slight favourites in Game 2 but you have to wonder what will be different. Sure, they're a great team but this is the Warriors they're playing. To beat them you have to be outstanding for all 48 minutes (and even then you might fall short) and I just don't have the confidence that Houston can do that.

If the Rockets are to win, one thing is for sure: Harden needs help. Chris Paul has been good but other players like Ariza, Tucker and the bench need to step up. The Houston bench went just 8/24 in Game 1 and will certainly need to shoot better than that to win.

I'm more than happy to take Golden State at their even money price with the premise that this game is theirs unless Houston can pull off an impressive 48 minute performance and that just doesn't seem likely.

Tip: Golden State to Win

Houston didn't play badly in Game 1 and the Warriors still won by double-digits. It's certainly possible for us to see a repeat of that.

Value Bet: Golden State to win 11+
