Sunday NBA Best Bets - 23 December
The 76ers will be looking to defeat the league leading Raptors in a potential Eastern Conference Final preview.
A potential Eastern Conference Final preview headlines today’s NBA matches as the 76ers host the Raptors. It will be third meeting of the season between the two teams but first in Philly, with the Raptors winning both matches earlier in the season in Toronto.
They are on the back-to-back after easily accounting for Cleveland on their home court yesterday. The Raptors never trailed and were led by Kawhi Leonard’s equal season-high 37 points. Leonard was well supported with five teammates in double-figures as regular starters Lowry, Serge Ibaka and Danny Green all sat out. Ibaka and Green could return for the trip to Philadelphia, but Lowry will miss again as he battles a thigh injury.
The Sixers are in a mini slump having lost three of their past five games including two at home where they still hold the league’s best record of 15-3. Ben Simmons has had triple-doubles in two of his past three games and Joel Embiid has regained his early season form and will prove a handful for the thin Raptors front court.
Tip (H2H, Line or Over/Under): 76ers -4.5
The Sixers will be keen to get a victory over the league leaders after having failed twice already this season. They love playing at home and against an injury plagued Raptors on the quick back up, take the home team to cover the line.
