2019 NBA Finals: Raptors v Warriors Game 4 - Preview & Betting Tips
Will the cavalry arrive to help Steph Curry and the Warriors tie the NBA Finals series, or can the Raptors take a commanding 3-1 lead?
Toronto Raptors @ Golden State Warriors
Oracle Arena , Oakland - 11:00AM
Klay Thompson was ruled out of Game 3 of the NBA Finals just moments before tip off, but the Warriors who hadn’t played in front of their home fans at Oracle Arena in 19 days were still favoured to win the all important Game 3 of the series. In NBA Playoff history, the team that leads a best-of-seven series 2-1 goes on to win the series 79.8% of the time, meaning the Raptors - who won back home court advantage - are in the box seat to claim their maiden NBA Championship.
With just one day rest between Game 3 and 4, Thompson will again be questionable after missing his first career playoff game and Kevin Durant will remain doubtful. The Raptors will again look for a well rounded team performance, which saw all their starters plus Fred VanVleet off the bench score in double-figures, led by Kawhi Leonard’s 30-points. The visitors also reined in 17 three-pointers and shot just under 53% from the floor in contrast to the Warriors, who were held to under 40%. Steph Curry poured in a career playoff high 47 points, while the rest of the Warriors starters could only combine for 36 as they looked very short handed on the offensive end.
The Raptors will take huge confidence and belief in themselves from the 123-109 win, which moved their record against the Warriors this season to 4-1 and have now won six of their past seven overall. If Thompson again misses, the Raptors will likely head in slight favourites and it would be hard to back against them if they’re to bring a similar offensive output. The champs are on the ropes, but it would be crazy to write them off just yet, but they may need another 40+ from their two-time MVP Steph Curry if they’re to head back to Toronto with a level series scoreline.
Key Stat: The Raptors have a 4-1 line record against the Warriors at Oracle Arena from 2015/16 onwards
