NBA Finals: Raptors vs. Warriors Game 6 - Preview & Betting Tips
The Warriors managed to extend the series with a thrilling win in Toronto, but can they keep the three-peat dream alive with victory at home in Game 6?
Oracle Arena , Oakland - 11:00AM
The Golden State Warriors aren’t letting go of the NBA title just yet. Somehow, some way, the two-time defending champions found enough down the stretch to force the series back to Oracle Arena for the very last at the venue and a crucial Game 6.
Kawhi Leonard lit up Scotiabank Arena with 10 points in just over 90 seconds to give his team a six-point lead with three minutes remaining. With all the momentum and the crowd in a frenzy, Nick Nurse strangely decided to call a time out.
From there, the Raptors missed their next four shots, while the Warriors buried three straight three-pointers to reclaim the lead, one they would not again surrender. Steph Curry scored 31-points and Klay Thompson added 26 as the Warriors outscored the Raptors 60-24 from behind the arc.
The Raptors though took more shots from three-point range, outscored the Warriors by 11 in free throws and shot better on 2s, but still fell short.
Will that loss haunt the Raptors, or can they respond knowing for certain Kevin Durant won’t return and Kevon Looney is again questionable. Durant’s injury has been the subplot for the entire series and after starting Game 5 and scoring 11-points in 12 minutes, his absence is going to sorely missed with players like Draymond Green, Demarcus Cousins and Andre Iguodala needing to step up and add points.
If the Raptors can continue to share the scoring load with valuable contributions from their role players, the series won’t be returning to Toronto for a Game 7.
Key Stat: The underdog has won the last four games of the NBA Finals.
