This Weekends 5 Best Bets: 15th - 16th June
This weekend's best bets cover the AFL, boxing, Cricket World Cup and NRL.
AFL – Fremantle v Port Adelaide
The Tip: Fremantle
Why: The Dockers were victorious when the Power last visited this venue, triumphing 59-50 in a terribly low scoring affair, despite missing skipper Nat Fyfe. The last six encounters between them have been won by the home team.
Cricket – Australia v Sri Lanka
The Tip: Warner to top score for Australia
Why: David Warner is on fire this Cricket World Cup, blasting 255 runs already at an average of 85. Coming off his tremendous 107 against Pakistan, Warner is full of form and confidence.
Boxing – Tyson Fury v Tom Schwarz
The Tip: Fury to win in round 4-6
Why: A stoppage victory will be the aim for Fury as he looks to make a statement on the road to a Wilder rematch. With 9 of Fury’s 19 knockout victories coming between rounds 4 and 6, that looks to be the sweet spot for him to achieve his expected stoppage.
NRL – Roosters v Bulldogs
The Tip: Roosters halftime/fulltime
Why: The Roosters have four straight wins against the Dogs, all of them coming with halftime leads – in fact, the last 11 Roosters wins over Canterbury have all come from them leading at the break.
Cricket – India v Pakistan
The Tip: India to score most sixes
Why: Rohit, Kohli, Pandya, MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav are all far more consistent six-hitters than anything Pakistan have to offer, making $1.72 look a tad generous.
