This Weekends 5 Best Bets: 6th - 7th July
This weekend's best bets cover the NRL, AFL, Super Rugby Final, Cricket World Cup and UFC 239.
Super Rugby – Crusaders v Jaguares
The Tip: Crusaders 1-12
Why: With the Jaguares needing to overcome their long haul flight and the fact the Crusaders have not lost at AMI Stadium since Round 17 2016, I can’t see them losing their first ever home final here despite not being the invincible force they were in the past.
AFL – Western Bulldogs v Geelong
The Tip: Geelong 1-39
Why: Despite potentially missing Patrick Dangerfield, the Cats should be too good as they have owned this matchup in recent history, winning 12 of their last 13 matches against the Bulldogs.
Cricket World Cup – Australia v South Africa
The Tip: Australia
Why: The Australians have only lost to India in the group phase and have improved from this defeat, and will not want to enter their semi-final losing momentum against an already eliminated opposition. South Africa have not defeated Australia at a Cricket World Cup since 1992.

UFC – Jones v Santos
The Tip: Jones by submission
Why: Santos is a devastating puncher and there’s no question a clean shot can put Jones to bed, but what will he do differently than some of the other heavy hitters did before him? I expect this fight to be taken to the floor where Santos will find out why many fighters before him have come up empty.
NRL – Sharks v Broncos
The Tip: Sharks
Why: Brisbane will field a massively revamped backline – only Darius Boyd remains from round one and there was plenty of chat he would have been dropped had they not been missing their Origin players. Cronulla still boasts six former Origin representatives in their squad this week too.
