Hobart Hurricanes

I’m backing Hobart this year to win the competition at $10, they’ve recruited really well and now have strike weapons with both bat and ball plus it always helps to have all rounders. Their batting line up looks one of the strongest in the tournament with Paine, Dunk, Sammy, Bailey, Christian and of course Sangakkarra. I also really like the work they’ve done getting Shaun Tait, gives them really pace and swing up front.

Chris Gayle

This years Top Batsman will be the West Indian star Chris Gayle, Gayle is at the Renegades this year and will provide fireworks at the top of the innings with Finch. If he stays fit he’s a great bet to win this competition, especially as Melbourne look stronger this year and could go a bit further in tournament.

Shaun Tait

Top bowler I’m picking a very well experienced T20 player, Shaun Tait. The Wild Thing can still put the ball down the other end at serious pace and has now got reverse wing in his armory. Reverse swing combined with his deadly yorker at the end of the innings will be far too good for most batsman.
