England v Sri Lanka

England take on Sri Lanka in the second game today. Reigning champions Sri Lanka have had a very disappointing competition, the players missing from their last campaign have left huge holes in this squad. Everyone predicted they'd be light with the bat in the World Cup but their bowling has also been a disappointment. England on the other hand have been exactly how I predicted, a very talented but inconsistent team.

The Poms almost came unstuck against Afghanistan which is unthinkable but their lower order and bowlers spared their blushes. England's team is one for the future, the way they're performing now should worry other nations. I have no doubt they'll win a major trophy in time but this years is one step beyond them. However, they'll have far too much for Sri Lanka, that's why I'm backing them at $1.5.

Eoin Morgan hasn't left his mark on this year’s competition, he's got the skill and temperament to have a huge say on this game. Morgan's style perfectly counteracts the Sri Lankans bowlers; his range of shots allows him to milk the spinners during the middle overs. He's a dark horse but offers real value at $10 to be top batsman in the game.

The Poms have six hitters all the way through their order, explosive batsman up top and then finishes at the back end. Sri Lanka don't have many with the ability to clear the rope, hence why we’re backing England to hit the most 6's at $1.8.
