See What the Pommy Bookies are saying about the Ashes

Australia 5-0, Australia 4-0 and a series win the three most popular bets on site as the first test looms large

With just two weeks to go until the 2017/18 Ashes gets underway, the talking and debate has reached a fever pitch, as England look to retain the urn that they won "so impressively" back in 2015. But it’s a different Australia waiting for them than the one that travelled to England two years ago and the bookies make the hosts big favourites to win the series.

The Aussies are a best price of $1.40 to win and that short price hasn’t put off punters one bit. Over the last week, a massive 81% of punters have gone for the home side, including multiple three-figure bets.

England on the other hand are comfortable underdogs at $4.50 but despite this price, they are finding little favour with punters. Having said that, one person in England is keeping the faith and has put down the biggest bet that we’ve seen on the series (a large three figure sum) on an England series win!

When it comes to the series correct score, it’s a similar story when it comes to where the money is going. The two most popular bets are Australia 5-0 and Australia 4-0, priced at $10 and $9 respectively. Indeed, the three most popular bets when it comes to the series as a whole are these two scores and an Australia win.

The talk has been bold from the Australian camp and Stuart Broad has been quick to mention the stick he expects to get in particular when he crosses the boundary line in Brisbane in a fortnight. He’s $6 to be the top bowler in the series, but the favourite with bookies and bettors is the same person. Mitchell Starc is chomping at the bit to get at the England batting line-up and 72% of punters have backed him to be the man with the bowling golden touch. He’s $2.40 to be the best and if he carries his ridiculous form into the series, it could be ugly viewing for anyone staying up to watch!
