The Renegades are expected to get their season off to the best possible start when they take on the Hurricanes tonight at Blundstone Arena. The Melbourne side has a 4-2 record against their southern rival and a 3-1 record playing in Hobart. However, the home side isn’t without hope and did win a 445-run thriller the last time these sides met. In that respect, don’t be surprised to see a high-scoring affair, especially with the addition of Brad Hodge to the Renegades’ squad.
Key stat: The Renegades won two of their last three matches in BBL|06.
It’s always hard to look past Aaron Finch to go big in this form of the game. The star opener averages 34.69 in T20 cricket and finished last season as the second highest Big Bash run scorer. Finch has also shown a liking for the Bellerive Oval wicket posting half centuries in three of four games at the ground. For the Tasmanian outfit, George Bailey may be one to consider after a stellar run in the Sheffield Shield that has produced scores of 71, 3, 86, 106 and 59.
Key stat: Aaron Finch has scored 50+ in three of his last four games against the Hurricanes.
