Head to Head

The Heat start favourite in their match against the Thunder at the Gabba tonight. Runs are expected given the Brisbane side piled on 200+ at this venue in their opening game of the season and now have the services of Chris Lynn to call on. Although the Thunder do have claims, they have struggled against their northern rival in the past (1-5 record) and were found out by the Strikers in their last clash, losing by 53 runs.

Key stat: The Thunder have never beaten the Heat at the Gabba

High Bat

The Bash Brothers will no doubt steal all the attention in this market, but Joe Burns at or around the $5 mark is perhaps the bet of the day. The former Test player missed the Heat’s last game through injury, but hit 50 in Brisbane’s season opener and has been in imperious form in the Sheffield Shield, hitting 202, 4, 81 and 103 across his last four innings. For the Thunder, Callum Ferguson appears set to make his debut for the franchise and at $8 is well worth considering.

Key stat: At the Gabba, Joe Burns hasn’t scored under 20 runs for the Heat in 2017 (five matches)

Tip

Heat to win and to hit the most sixes
