Head to Head

Despite their winless record to start the season, the Sixers will enter their match against the Strikers as favourites. However, the men in magenta have an overall record of 3-4 against Adelaide and the Strikers claimed the honours in their only previous meeting in Sydney. A total of 256 runs were scored in the last match between the pair and another low-scoring game could be on the cards given just 268 runs were compiled in the SCG’s only other fixture this year.

Key stat: Total runs have been fewer than 300 in five of seven games between these teams.

High Bat

Touted as a possible Test opener earlier in the year, Daniel Hughes is well worth considering at the odds. Although the left-hand bat has had mixed form this year, he has racked up over 600 runs in his 27 T20 matches and is due a big score after posting 29 and 7 in the first two games of the season. For the Strikers, Alex Carey is sure to be popular after his 26-ball 44 in Adelaide’s season opener.

Key stat: Alex Carey has reached double figures in eight of his last nine innings (all formats).

Tip

Strikers to win and have the highest opening partnership.
