Head to Head

The Stars’ first home match of the season should attract a big crowd at the G with many hopefully that runs will be the order of the day given the two teams put on a 397-run thriller when they met on December 20 at the Gabba. Brisbane has now won five of seven matches between the pair and importantly has won both fixtures held at Melbourne’s iconic sporting home. For their part, the Stars will be out for their first win of the season and will be buoyed by the Heat’s heavy loss in Adelaide last week which saw the Brisbane side rolled for under 100.

Key stat: Over 300 runs have been scored in five of the seven games between this pair.

High Bat

Glenn Maxwell at $5.50 will have plenty rushing to hit the ‘bet now’ button. Although the explosive batsman has failed to register a score of note in the Stars’ opening two fixtures, he had been in imperious form in the Sheffield Shield racking up totals of 96, 278, 16, 4 and 45* across his last five innings. For the visiting side, Jimmy Pierson is out beyond $5 which could be worth a nibble on given he is likely to play an anchoring role with the bat.

Key stat: Glenn Maxwell posted a 20+ score in nine of his 18 domestic T20 innings in 2017
