Perth Scorchers v Sydney Sixers Preview & Betting Tips
Can the Scorchers keep their perfect start intact when they face the winless Sixers in the West?
Head to Head
The Sixers will be hoping that 2018 brings a reversal in fortunes with the men in magenta now 0-3 in this season’s Big Bash. Unfortunately for them, the likelihood of that occurring appears slim given they face a Scorchers side that beat them by six wickets on December 23 and is still unbeaten after three games in this edition of the competition. Although Sydney have won before at the WACA, Perth holds a 8-3 head to head record against them and have also won three of their last four at the Furnace.
Key stat: The Scorchers have been victorius eight of their last nine games against the Sixers.
Ashton Turner’s half-century was the backbone of Perth’s run chase when these sides last met. The highly-rated 24-year old has only been dismissed once in this year’s competition and has now compiled double figure scores in six of his last seven innings (all competitions). Although the evergreen Michael Klinger is always hard to look past for Perth, the $4.50 odds on the youngster may well be worth considering. A quick look at the Sixers’ High Bat market shows Nic Maddison at a price nearing $4.50 which will tempt plenty given he has scored 31, 31 and 0 in this year’s tournament.
Key stat: Michael Klinger has posted a 20+ score in four of his last five T20 games (all competitions).
Scorchers to win with Mitchell Johnson to take the most wickets.
