Loyalty Man is flying high, with a hat-trick likely here after great wins. The son of champion sire Fastnet Rock was a $3.50 favourite and got the money with an easy 1 ¼ length win over 1300m at his last start at Sandown on April 20.
Unbreakable only needs an ounce of luck to play a key role here. He chased hard the whole straight to finish second to Bengal Cat over 1600m at Sandown on April 16. Some punters anticipated a good run with him specked from $21 into $18. Big race rider Craig Williams replaces Ben Melham to help the gelding combat his wide alley in 13.
Zandarral is a son of staying sire High Chaparral and was impressive when winning as a $3.10 favourite over 1400m at Bendigo last start on April 9. He hails out of Melbourne’s top yard and from gate three, with Mark Zahra to ride, and stepping up in distance here he will be hotly fancied again.
Le Boss has an awkward draw in 12, but he broke his maiden in style over 1600m at Pakenham two starts ago. He was a $1.80 favourite and lumped 59.5kg when narrowly beaten at 1600m Cranbourne last start on April 22. The son of Street Boss drops to 52.5kg with apprentice Michael Dee’s 1.5kg claim.
