Euro Angel appears to have a very bright career with a record of two wins and a third on city tracks. The daughter of Rip Van Winkle was super impressive in bolting to a 3 ¼ length win over 1400m against her own sex and age here at her Victorian debut on June 11. She again strikes her own age and sex here and is bound to be a red hot favourite at $1.75 in early betting.
Daniela Rosa resumed in style to post a fighting win over 1450m at Sale on June 19. The Mike Moroney-trained filly again has an inside alley in three and will carry a half kilo more on 59.5kg to be the second top-weight in a small field of nine fillies. She showed she can carry a load and looms as the main danger.
Payroll was hampered twice at the 800m and 600m, but still showed courage to finish under three lengths adrift of the winner Lady Selkirk - who is favourite to win the first race today - over 1600m here on June 25. Craig Williams, who is in battle with Dwayne Dunn, replaces Damien Oliver, who is on holiday. She again has a wide alley in seven.
Avenue Whisper is worth giving another chance on her disappointing ninth as a $2.20 favourite over 1600m at Sandown on June 29. The daughter of Street Cry’s prior form was rock solid, but she does strike a smart one in Euro Angel here. Senior rider Dean Yendall replaces apprentice Michael Dee and she carries the same weight on 55.5kg.
