WIDE ACCLAIM looks ready to break back into the winners’ circle after a nice trial leading in. He has had form behind group-performed horses and should be hard to beat.
VALLEGRANDE down in grade has his chance here. He is well-weighted after the claim and hopefully the trip up the highway has sparked him into action.
BERETTA is well-placed for a first-up run. The form around him last preparation is good and this does look a good race for him to start off with.
SPIRITOS will probably need further than this but has trialled well leading in.
SELECTIONS: No 2 WIDE ACCLAIM, No 7 Vallegrande, No 3 Beretta, No 1 Spiritos
Race 7 2:54pm CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200m
LINDY LOU was tested in the Magic Millions last preparation after a brilliant debut, and although she may not have been ready for such an assignment, she was still fantastic to only be beaten by four lengths. She has trialled well leading in and after the 2kg claim she will be super hard to beat.
FASHION SNIPTZ is dropping well in grade here after a long spell. She looks to be a filly with some ability and should be there or thereabouts.
MISS WET ’N’ WILD is an intriguing runner here with form in Victoria and South Australia. Taking the punt with no trial to guide us, she is a chance.
LA LA LOOPSY comes out of a strong form race last start and is a chance.
SELECTIONS: No 3 LINDY LOU, No 2 Fashion Sniptz, No 8 Miss Wet ‘N’ Wild, No 12 La La Loopsy
Race 8 3:34pm BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1150m
CHARGE OF LIGHT drops back from highway grade at his last start and is well placed here.
THORSBORNE gets a chance to win a race after running in much stronger grade in all runs this preparation.
HASHTAG NOIDEA will run them along and has been running in races of a similar grade in Queensland.
CHRISTMAS COMMANDS didn’t handle the heavy going last start and off her previous runs she has to be given a chance.
SELECTIONS: No 2 CHARGE OF LIGHT, No 3 Thorsborne, No 6 Hashtag Noidea, No 8 Christmas Commands
Race 9 4:14pm CLASS 2 HANDICAP 2050m
ESTEBAN was a dominant winner last start and should go on with it.
LIPS AREIOS is a better horse than his form belies. He should be rock hard fit now and an improvement is expected.
STIRLING SHADOW drops in grade after a good performance last start. The distance shouldn’t be an issue for him and he is well weighted after the claim.
CHARLIE ROYALE probably wants it a touch wetter than this, but has been running well as of late and is a place chance.
SELECTIONS: No 2 ESTEBAN, No 1 Lips Areios, No 6 Stirling Shadow, No 4 Charlie Royale
