GUARD OF HONOUR was a dominant winner in midweek when resuming from a spell. He does look a horse who is above average and could be a player in the earlier group races leading up to the Golden Rose.

MORTON’S FORK was very good when resuming. He hit the line powerfully. Would have been good to see him step up to 1400m second-up though. He has to carry a big weight and on a heavy track it will be a tough ask.

FOXY HOUSEWIFE was a good winner at Kembla first-up. She looks to control the speed here and down on the minimum weight she will be hard to run down.

GOLDEN ORGANIC hit the line powerfully on debut at Canterbury. The step up to 1200 looks ideal but he may need further. The heavy track could be in his advantage.

SELECTIONS: No 2 GUARD OF HONOUR, No 1 Morton’s Fork, No 9 Foxy Houswife, No 5 Golden Organic

Value Runner: Foxy Housewife

Race 2 12:05pm SCHWEPPES HANDICAP 1100m

BADAJOZ should have won last start at Wyong, simple as that. The jockey chose the wrong option in the straight and you have to forgive it. His previous form is quite strong, he gets a senior here in Avdulla and should be hard to beat.

ELEMENOHPEE has taken all before him this preparation, winning all three starts from maiden level through to a win at Saturday level. He goes up 7.5kgs for that win though, but does drop back to 3yo level.

NOBLE JOEY looks to take up the speed here. He was a good winner last start, leading all the way, and if the same tactics are employed in the wet, he will be hard to beat.

PROFESSOR MARX has a good wet track record and gets conditions to suit yet again here. With only 51kgs after the claim he is well in at the weights and a knockout hope.

SELECTIONS: No 4 BADAJOZ, No 2 Elemenophee, No 3 Noble Joey, No 7 Professor Marx

Value Runner: Badajoz

MOST EXALTED should turn the tables on More Than Fabulous here. He was just too far off the winner on the turn and couldn't run him down that day. He is a winner in soft conditions, but is yet to see a heavy track. He looks as if he can handle the going and should be hard to beat.

MORE THAN FABULOUS got a gun ride from Shinn last start and that was the difference. He loses Shinn and gets Adkins here and does meet Most Exalted much better off at the weights from that victory. But I’m happy to take him on here.

FAT CHAP was a strong winner on Tuesday at Kembla and the quick back-up should suit him. He is the typical Gai muscle and bone type of horse and looks to take the speed here and should be hard to run down.

BON EQUUS should relish the step up to 2000 here. He was building up strongly last start over the mile. He gets Bowman for the first time here and should be in the finish.

SELECTIONS: No 4 MOST EXALTED, No 5 More Than Fabulous, No 3 Fat Chap, No 6 Bon Equus.

Vale Runner: Fat Chap

Race 4 1:15pm TAB HIGHWAY HANDICAP 1400m

ATTAINMENT was a dominant winner at Canberra in the heavy conditions when well out of his grade. After the claim for Adkins he only has to carry 56kgs and he will relish the heavy conditions here and be hard to beat.

BALYCASTLE PEGASUS right down in the weights is a chance. She was good at Wagga last start on a day where it was hard to be on speed/the rail. From barrier (1) she should roll forward and be tough to run down.

SNIPPS PARADE hasn’t quite lived up to expectations this preparation. He has started short in the market in all four runs. He should handle the conditions given his breeding and the step up to 1400m looks a positive.

GRAND ROUGE is a winner on heavy conditions in the past and comes through a strong highway race last start.

SELECTIONS: No 1 ATTAINMENT, No 4 Balycastle Pegasus, No 7 Snipps Parade, No 6 Grand Rouge

Value Runner: Ballycastle Pegasus

PAINTE gets conditions to suit here. He has just missed in both runs this preparation and the step up to 1200 looks ideal here. From barrier 1 Clark should have him in the perfect condition and be hard to beat.

GRANDE PUNTO will relish the conditions. Just forget his last start run where nothing went right. Bowman gets aboard today and even with the 60kgs he looks to get the right run and should be in the finish.

BURNING PASSION was good first up. He has trialled well between runs and has a fantastic second up record. Cummings is really placing his horses well at the minute and if he can get the right run from barrier (10) he will be in the finish.

SHADOW LORD goes up 9.5kgs on his last start run where he was fantastic behind Mount Nebo. He was in the wrong part of the track that day and still made up a lot of ground. The rise in weight is the worry though.

SELECTIONS: No 2 PAINTE, No 4 Grande Punto, No 8 Burning Passion, No 3 Shadow Lord.

Value Runner: Painte

EL NOVIO was a good winner of a strong race last start. The form out of it has stood up quite well. He's had a trial between runs and it was a solid effort. The step up to 2400m looks ideal and he should be in the finish.

DEFROST MY HEART was just run down late over the 2600m last start. He should be rock hard fit after four runs back from a spell and gains Bowman here. He is a winner on a heavy track in the past and should be hard to beat.

ZAPOTAZ has to be forgiven for her last start run. He had three tough runs back from a spell and this was probably just a flat run. I’m willing to forgive it and give him another chance as he was too bad to be true last start.

HALFWAY TO HEAVEN was a strong winner at the midweeks last start. He looks to take up the speed yet again and should be hard to beat.

SELECTIONS: No 5 El Novio, No 2 Defrost My Heart, No 4 Zapotaz, No 6 Halfway To Heaven

Value Runner: Zapotaz

Race 7 3:10pm SHOOT OUT MILE 1600m

SEBRINA back to 1600m looks as if it will suit. She probably didn’t get the best of rides last start when behind Foreign Prince. Previous to that she was a dominant winner, she loves the heavy conditions and will be hard to beat.

FAROLITOS was a strong winner in a similar grade last start. He loves the softer conditions, the course and with Bowman aboard, he should be hard to beat again.

MCCREERY was really well backed last start and never looked likely over the shorter distance. He did hit the line strong late though. He is a two-time winner from three attempts over the mile and the trial since his last run was quite pleasing.

MAGICAL STANCE was probably a little flat last start after a great first-up run. He steps up to the mile here, which will suit on his home track. Clipperton gets back aboard for the first time this preparation and with the right run he will be in the finish.

SELECTIONS: No 3 SEBRINA, No 2 Farolitos, No 6 Mccreery, No 7 Magical Stance

Value Runner: Mccreery

Race 8 3:50pm TAB.COM.AU HANDICAP 1400m

ELLE LOU has come back a better horse this preparation, with two wins from three runs. All four of her wins have come on soft going and although she hasn’t won on heavy conditions she has placed four times from five runs and after the claim she is well in and will be hard to beat.

TREE OF JESSE has a great first-up record and loves the heavy conditions. She has won three of her four races at Randwick and looks to be well placed by Cummings. Even though she has drawn barrier (11) Bowman will get her in the running line and she should be in the finish.

FLAMBOYANT LASS on the quick back-up is quite attractive. She just missed last start and is a winner on heavy conditions previously. 1400m looks as if it will suit her running style and she will be hard to beat.

HARLEM LADY has been just whacking away in the finish of her races as of late and may want further than 1400m. She is, however, a placegetter in both of her runs on heavy tracks in the past.

SELECTIONS: No 1 ELLE LOU, No 5 Tree Of Jesse, No 3 Flamboyant Lass, No 7 Harlem Lady

Value Runner: Tree Of Jesse

EVER SO NATURAL should be hard to beat first up. Last start he was behind Clearly Innocent in the country championships and that form has since stood up and proven to be legitimate group race form. He is yet to miss a place from all three first-up runs and although he is yet to see heavy conditions, his breeding should help him get through it.

ALLEZ CHIVAL was a winner on heavy conditions previously and was quite good when resuming. She loves the 1000m and with a second-up record, where she is two from two, she should be in the finish.

CHEEKY BABE is way out of her grade here, but looks as if it shouldn’t worry her. She drops 5kgs from her first-up run which was quite good. The wide open expanses of Randwick should suit her. Barrier (14) is no issue as it is one turn from the 1000m start and as long as Tommy can have her in a rhythm she will be in the finish.

MS WICKED WANDA has been carrying some big weights on the country circuit and gets right down to 54kgs after the claim. Nine of her 10 wins have come over the 1000m distance and she has gotten through the heavy conditions in the past and is a chance.

SELECTIONS: No 4 EVER SO NATURAL, No 10 Allez Chival, No 13 Cheeky Babe, No 7 Ms Wicked Wanda
