Nine-race card here at Randwick this Saturday and again we’re met with wet conditions.
The track is currently rated a Heavy 10 and with more rain expected, it’s unlikely to change.
The rail is at the true position for the entire circuit.

SKINNY PLAY: 3 / 3,5,6 / 2,10 / 2,6

R1 11.50pm POWHF LOUISA HOPE HANDICAP 1800m
HARLEM LADY was stepped up to the 1500m at Rosehill last start and the mare came away with a win. While yet to be tried over this trip in 14 starts, being a daughter of Zabeel, she should be suited by it. Chris Waller holds the key to the race with a couple of strong back up plans behind Harlem Lady. From barrier (2) she should get the perfect run through the race.
FIREBIRD FLYER is chasing a third straight success after wins both at Warwick Farm and here. The four-year-old mare is full of confidence and is one of the main threats.
ERIKA was no match for Esteban last start over 2000m at Rosehill. There is no shame in that though as the winner has since come out and franked the form. Her win prior, over this trip at Rosehill, was excellent and she’ll appreciate the small field.
BIRDS OF TOKYO is up from Melbourne after a soft win at Moe last start. This is her first go at the trip, but she does handle the conditions well.
SELECTIONS: No2 HARLEM LADY, No3 Firebird Flyer, No4 Erika, No5 Birds Of Tokyo
VALUE RUNNER: No5 Birds Of Tokyo
R2 12.25pm POWHF ROY BILLING OAM HANDICAP 2400m
THURSTON gets another chance, but this may be his last. The gelding has disappointed in his past two outings, however he may have had excuses last start being galloped on in transit. A stakes placed galloper at this course and distance, today is perhaps the day he can showcase his staying prowess for the first time this campaign.
MORE THAN FABULOUS has won two of his past three outings, the latest over 1900m at Canterbury. The gelding thrives on wet tracks although a rise to 2400m must be a query. He should get a soft run from barrier (4), which will enhance his chance.
BRACES was rewarded for his consistency when a narrow winner over 2200m at Warwick Farm 24 days ago. He has finished in the top two in his past four runs and could make it back-to-back victories in a weak race.
ELUSIVE RUNNER has now had three runs back from a 749-day break between races and looks ready to do something. He was only three-lengths from the winner in the 2014 Queensland Derby and would be right in this if he could recapture that form.
SELECTIONS: No6 THURSTON, No3 More Than Fabulous, No2 Braces, No7 Elusive Runner
VALUE RUNNER: No6 Thurston
R3 1.00pm JOCKEY CELEBRATION DAY HANDICAP 1000m
KANGARILLA JOY resumes after a summer campaign which culminated at stakes level. Group placed in the Light Fingers Stakes at this course over 1200m. She rates well clear of anything in this field on the strength of that showing. She is unbeaten first-up and should be forward enough to build upon that effort off an 850m trial at this course in readiness.
LAST WITNESS is chasing a third straight success after saluting over this trip at Canterbury a fortnight ago. The gelding is in winning form, rock hard fit and thrives on wet tracks.
HOT HIT has placed in each of his three runs this campaign. He’s been freshened up since and he’ll enjoy the wet conditions fourth-up.
THREE SHEETS drops back in trip to a distance where he commenced his campaign with two wins from as many starts. A return to the shorter sprint is expected to suit.
WAR JET resumes without a trial but has a very good winning strike rate with seven wins from seventeen starts. He won the Magic Millions Country Cup at the Gold Coast first-up last time. Looks right up to a race like this.
SELECTIONS: No1 KANGARILLA JOY, No4 Last Witness, No7 Hot Hit, No2 War Jet
VALUE RUNNER: No2 War Jet
R4 1.35pm TAB HIGHWAY HANDICAP 1400m
EXPLOSIVE SCENE has produced a couple of good Highway Handicap outings of late, the latest over 1500m at Rosehill. The gelding should be rock hard fit and is capable on the soft ground.
APPOINT PERCY resumes after his first Australian race campaign which returned good results including a metropolitan success over the mile here. Fitness first up over this distance on a testing track is the obvious query.
ATTAINMENT ran second in a 1250m Highway Handicap at Canterbury a fortnight ago. He is capable on rain affected ground, although suspect he is better over shorter sprint journeys opposed to the 1400m.
A MAGIC ZARIZ is putting together a good record with three wins from five starts. The Randwick 1400m looks an ideal assignment and he just needs some luck from the wide gate.
DESTINED TO WIN didn't get the clearest of runs in the straight when just behind the place-getters at Canterbury last start. Placed three from four third-up and goes in all the exotics here.
SELECTIONS: No6 EXPLOSIVE SCENE, No1 Appoint Percy, No5 Attainment, No4 A Magic Zariz
VALUE RUNNER: No9 Destined To Win
R5 2.10pm MARK MORAN MISSILE STAKES 1200m
REBEL DANE resumes off an autumn campaign where he mixed form at Group 1 level. Efforts early in his preparation were good though when contesting the C.F Orr Stakes and the Futurity Stakes. His first up record is also strong.
BIG MONEY fell marginally short of victory in the Ramornie Handicap 24 days ago. There is more quality to this race, however he has value appeal as the fit horse on the scene.
GENERALIFE resumes and has had a couple of recent trials at Randwick. The seven-year-old wasn't far from the winner resuming last time in and worth including in the wider exotics.
SELECTIONS: No1 Rebel Dane, No3 Big Money, No2 Generalife
VALUE RUNNER: No1 Rebel Dane
R6 2.50pm THE RANDWICK CITY COUNCIL ROSEBUD 1200m
MEDITERRANEAN resumed in the easiest assignment of his career last start and capitalised when saluting over this trip at Canterbury last month. He has been kept ticking over with a 1050m Randwick trial and should be able to go on with things here.
HAIR TRIGGER was catching the eye late last start over 1200m at Canterbury against a number of rivals he faces again here. The penny still has to drop, however, he looks above average.
THRONUM finished second last start after winning his first-two. He had to be ridden back on that occasion, but from barrier (1) here, don’t be surprised if he’s pushed out of the gates and finds the front.
QUICK FEET resumes and has trialled well on two occasions leading into this winning the latest at Randwick. He looks ready to go fresh and will jump from barrier (3), which should give him every chance.
SELECTIONS: No3 MEDITERRANEAN, No4 Hair Trigger, No2 Thronum, No1 Quick Feet
VALUE RUNNER: No6 Uthred
R7 3.30pm THE WALLABY CUP 1600m
QUICK DEFENCE has improved with each Australian outing to date and last start was a dominant winner over 1550m at Canterbury 10 days ago. The gelding found a new level on that occasion and on the strength of that showing would take some beating in this.
DARK EYES also lines up here off a last start win over 1500m at Rosehill. It was his best effort by some way this campaign and he accounted for a number of the same rivals he takes on in this.
KING'S OFFICER is flying at present having won his past four outings. Connections keep raising the bar and he continues to deliver.
SUBORIC won three in a row before copping a check at a vital time at Rosehill last start. Just needs even luck in running to bounce back and should get every opportunity from barrier (4).
DUBAIINSTYLE was checked at a vital time when close up at Rosehill last start. From barrier (6), the four-year-old is another that could play a part in the race.
SO WILLIE was a winner at Rosehill four starts ago. He finished second last start, but the 1600m looks ideal for him as well.
SELECTIONS: No5 QUICK DEFENCE, No6 Dark Eyes, No3 Suboric, No7 So Willie
VALUE RUNNER: No7 So Willie
R8 4.10pm POWHF DIRECTORS HANDICAP 1200m
DIXIE BLOSSOMS resumes after a maiden campaign midway through last season which culminated with a Group placing in the Arrowfield Classic. While she will likely be better over more ground, she has won first-up over the sprint journey in the past. Class alone can see her a long way also. Her trial in readiness for this was also most encouraging.
TREMOR backs up after a close third over 1200m at Rosehill. The best effort of her latest campaign, it has her rating highly amongst this field.
ALLEZ CHIVAL wasn't far off the winner over 1250m at Canterbury a fortnight ago. The mare has improved with each run this campaign and showed a fortnight ago that there is more to her repertoire than the shorter sprint affairs.
TYPHOON JOLIE was fair when resuming over 1250m at Canterbury. She will have taken benefit from that outing and her second up record is strong.
VIADUCTRESS looked a run short at Rosehill resuming. Invariably improves second-up and just needs even luck in running from an awkward gate to be right in the finish.
ROCK ON ZARIZ is racing in career best form with three wins two placings from last five. Never really clear and should have been closer to the winner at Rosehill last start. Expected to be right in the finish again.
SELECTIONS: No2 DIXIE BLOSSOMS, No10 Tremor, No6 Allez Chival, No5 Typhoon Jolie
VALUE RUNNER: No5 Typhoon Jolie
R9 4.50pm ROTARY CLUB OF BOTANY BAY HANDICAP 1200m
BURNING PASSION was a dominant last start winner over this course and distance last start. He has been given a let up since but kept ticking over with a 740m trial here.
CANNYESCENT is another in the field who resumes off a promising three-year-old season. He will go back from a wide draw and be rattling home late off an anticipated strong tempo.
HAPTIC resumes on the back of a recent Warwick Farm trial win. Placed in the San Domenico resuming last preparation and looks ready to go fresh.
ALLEZ CHIVAL did a good job racing on the speed when third at Canterbury last start with the winner and second horse coming from last and second-last. This is her chance to win a race this preparation.
SELECTIONS: No2 Burning Passion, No11 Cannyescent, No1 Haptic
VALUE RUNNER: No1 Haptic
