There has been rain in Brisbane and Doomben will be on the soft side. It plays a lot fairer than Eagle Farm when wet, with leaders usually suited early and then swoopers getting into play as the day goes on. The rail is out 9.5 metres, which on dry days suits frontrunners but not so much late on wet days.

R1 1.20pm WWW.BRC.COM.AU MARES AND FILLIES MAIDEN PLATE 1200m
POLSKIE LADY was good first up and looked as though the run would have done her the world of good. Should be a lot fitter here.

TICKLED PINK was very well backed last start and looked the winner until the final 100m. Gets another chance here despite the poor barrier.

MULTICHOICE was good at only start at the Sunshine Coast.

MAGIC MIRANDA is having her first start but was placed in a good trial recently at Deagon. The stable is noted for first-up winners so respect at value odds here.

SELECTIONS: NO4 POLSKIE LADY, NO5 TICKLED PINK, NO9 MULTICHOICE, NO8 MAGIC MIRANDA.
VALUE RUNNER: NO8 MAGIC MIRANDA.
R2 1.53pm MOUNT FRANKLIN COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES MAIDEN PLATE 1200m
GOOD CATCH trialled nicely before two good race starts and was second to a very promising horse at the Gold Coast last time.
ROCKABELLA BOY has good NSW provincial form and has trialled fairly since coming north.

THE OVERDRAFT was very well backed at first start and looked a winner until he ran into the Eagle Farm ‘bad lands’ and stopped to finish fourth. Deserves respect here.

ALSEEYA is a six-year-old maiden so enough said. But has raced well in NSW and not a bad run at the Sunshine Coast last start.

LAKOUDIS has had a lot of chances but did hit the line hard to just fail at the Gold Coast last start.

SELECTIONS: NO3 GOOD CATCH, NO7 ROCKABELLA BOY, NO9 THE OVERDRAFT, NO1 ALSEEYA.
VALUE RUNNER: NO5 LAKOUDIS.
R3 2.23pm TRACKSIDE OPEN AIR CINEMA QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1110m
I'M A RIPPA was good first-up from a break at Doomben behind a plunge winner last start. He will be a lot fitter here.

PUBLISHING POWER was big odds but showed a lot of fight when placed at first race start at Doomben. He is drawn to get the run of the race.

SHUDA KNOWN BETTER looked a lot better last start and raced like it, finishing second to a promising horse. She should be in the finish.

BALBOA ROCKS hasn't raced in a few months and best form was in slightly longer races. But he did trial very well for the new stable and has claims provided he gets a start as he is third emergency.

TYRANNY is trained in Toowoomba but was a recent impressive Gold Coast trial winner. He could be the value hope from an ordinary barrier.

SELECTIONS: NO4 I'M A RIPPA, NO6 PUBLISHING POWER, NO12 SHUDA KNOWN BETTER, NO15 BALBOA ROCKS.
VALUE RUNNER: NO9 TYRANNY.
R4 2.53pm SKY THOROUGHBRED CENTRAL CLASS 5 HANDICAP 1350m
ACTION BUTTON was well beaten in a harder race last time but had no luck. Can handle wet tracks and looks well placed here at the weights.
BEAUMARIS was ridden much closer at Ipswich and duly won. Pity the same tactics weren't used when we tipped him at Doomben at his previous start but he gets a chance to atone.

LUCKY LUCRE gets way back in his races but provided there is pace early he will be in the finish.

Also, we tipped DUTCH TREAT at the Gold Coast two starts back only to see him have no luck and get beaten. He then won a harder race last start at huge odds so he also owes us one.

BAYVIEW EMPEROR is in a race to suit him here and his soft track form is solid.

And don't completely ignore BUON AUSPICIO as she loves the track and distance but needs to lead by herself.

SELECTIONS: NO7 ACTION BUTTON, NO10 BEAUMARIS, NO1 LUCKY LUCRE, NO9 DUTCH TREAT.
VALUE RUNNER: NO6 BAYVIEW EMPEROR.
R5 3.23pm VEUVE SOCIETY CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1650m
THE WACO KID was much better in a harder race last start. Wet track form isn't great but gets through it okay and provided it isn't a bog should go well.

RISING LUCK was a good third at Eagle Farm two runs back and then just run down in final 50m at the Sunshine Coast last start.

ROCK SPARK has won three of his past four starts and two of them on soft tracks. This is harder but has strong claims.

KINGTANTES has a mind of his own but was good last start. He handles soft tracks and is down in weight here with the leading jockey riding him.

TOPENDING is yet another horse who got caught in the wrong part of the track at Eagle Farm last start. His run under the circumstances was good and he looks value here.

SELECTIONS: NO3 THE WACO KID, NO1 RISING LUCK, NO5 ROCK SPARK, NO9 KINGTANTES.
VALUE RUNNER: NO4 TOPENDING.
R6 3.53pm SPRING RACING CARNIVAL FILLIES AND MARES CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1100m
SHAMFRANCISCO is a real flyer and beat Golden Rose favourite Yankee Rose in a barrier trial at the Sunshine Coast recently. She has never won first-up but has run second twice and this is easier than southern races she contested previously.

INVITTO is another speed horse who was good at Ipswich when second last start. She has the inside barrier which should help.

ZERO TOLERANCE is usually better later in her campaign but she had good form around some top horses in the winter. She should be getting home hard here and rates a strong chance.

HOLLYWOOD MISTRESS is from a top Sydney stable and has good NSW provincial form. Barrier no help but has claims.

FLEUR D'ORAGE is a very good horse on heavy tracks, so keep an eye on the track rating. She would be 25-1 on a dry track and 2-1 on a heavy.

SELECTIONS: NO2 SHAMFRANCISCO, NO1 INVITTO, NO9 ZERO TOLERANCE, NO10 HOLLYWOOD MISTRESS.
VALUE RUNNER: NO7 FLEUR D'ORAGE.
R7 4.23pm GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1110m
DYLAN'S LUCK has had no luck in recent races in good Saturday company. He has won his only two starts in wet conditions and looks very hard to beat.

CHIN CHUN is a former Hong Kong horse who was one run short when just beaten at last start. This is the race for him and should handle soft going.

OINK is an interesting runner because he is an early season three-year-old. But his two-year-old form was very good and he should have matured during a break.

QUATRONIC was scratched from Eagle Farm on Saturday for this. There is a good wrap on him and he wasn't knocked about when having a jog around in a trial recently.

HEROISM is in good northern rivers form and that form has been standing up in Brisbane of late. Reportedly trialled well when second on a bog track at Ballina recently.

SELECTIONS: NO3 DYLAN'S LUCK, NO1 CHIN CHUN, NO7 OINK, NO6 QUATRONIC.
VALUE RUNNER: NO4 HEROISM.
R8 5pm COUNTRY MUSIC RACEDAY CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1350m
OLSSON was good first-up and better second-up. He is ready to win here despite ordinary barrier.

SECRET CODE looked the winner until the last 50m when second at Ipswich last start and handles the soft going well.

BECKONING LIGHT is getting better for recent racing.

CODE ONE should have won at the Sunshine Coast when fourth across the line and got third after protesting against the winner.

LAKOTA SIOUX won that race and although relegated to fourth on protest his effort was good. Looks the value hope here.

SELECTIONS: NO5 OLSSON, NO3 SECRET CODE, NO6 BECKONING LIGHT, NO11 CODE ONE.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 13 LAKOTA SIOUX.
