ESCHATOLOGY hails from an in-form stable and does not have to improve much on her close second at her debut here over 1400m on August 10. Katelyn Mallyon replaces Damian Lane.

CRAVEN IMAGE has a superior draw on his last start in one. Brad Rawiller keeps the ride on him after his good second over 1300m here on August 10. Again will carry 58.5kg.

ALL ABOUT GOLD needs a golden passage with a wide gate in 13. But he has been consistent and had no luck when finishing second over 1426m at Sale on August 3. Suited at the 1600m.

RED DRAGON is solid as a rock. Will enjoy his drop back to 1600m after finishing solidly in a close finish over 2200m at Pakenham on August 5. Definitely one for the novelties.

HAVILDAR was always looking the winner and delivered in good style over 1300m last start here on August 10. Up in weight to 58kg with apprentice Ben Thompson’s 2kg claim but strong chance.

CANALASSO was heavily backed into a $1.65 favourite before breaking his maiden by 2 ½ lengths at his debut over 1100m at Echuca on August 7. Hard to beat again.

GUNN ISLAND fired home like a cannon to win his maiden over 1000m at Cranbourne very smartly on August 11. Drew wide that day but has an excellent gate here in two. Strong showing.

SUNDAY PRAY left his backers full of faith after he demolished his rivals at his debut over 1200m at Pakenham on August 5. Was backed from $41 into $26 that day.

SIR LOPEZ found the winner Northern Journey too strong over 2400m here on August 8. Gets his chance here with Jessica Payne’s 3kg claim reducing his weight to 59.5kg.

MARGIN TRADER is fit now with a run over 2100m here on August 7. Finished on well to run second to Refectory and with Dylan Dunn’s 2kg claim will carry 58kg.

QUEEN OUIJA gets her chance in a small field to claim back-to-back wins after claiming a good win over 2400m at Bendigo on August 14 as a $1.70 favourite.

RIYADH has top jockey Dwayne Dunn to steer and is chasing successive wins after a good effort over 2025m at Cranbourne on August 11. Makes appeal.

R4 2.30pm Catanach’s Jewellers Handicap 1500m

CHIVADAHLII was anticipated to bounce back when backed into $4.40 over 1600m at Bendigo on August 14. Apprentice Ben Allen’s claim will see him carry 58kg and can repeat.

ELJETEM is out for revenge after going down to Chivadahlii over 1600m at Bendigo on August 14. Ben Melham keeps the ride and he goes up half a kilo to 59kg. Good chance.

DEVERE won two in a row at Pakenham and would draw a line through his unexplained last-start flop when 10th at Pakenham on July 30. He has been freshened and expect a bold effort.

LEGAL HUNTER chased hard to the line when finishing third over 1600m here at his last start on August 10. He gets ace jockey Craig Williams this time and will carry the same weight on 57kg.

SAVANNAH MOON is aided by the 2kg claim of apprentice Ben Thompson reducing her impost to 59kg. Had no luck last start at Caulfield and has strong claims.

DULVERTON struck a bog track when she ran sixth here over 1600m against this class at her last start on July 27. Better here on a superior surface.

STAR CIRCLE gets some weight relief with top trainer Darren Weir booking Ben Allen, whose 3kg claim will reduce her impost to 56.5kg. Very consistent and a last-start winner.

WINTA CHILLER appears the omen bet on the day. She was plunged from $7 into $4.60 before running fifth over 1600m at Caulfield last start on August 13. Respect.

ARIAZ (Best Bet) was ditched into top company and ran well to finish second in the Group 3 Breeders’ Plate at Morphettville at her last start on April 16. Had a nice hit-out and ready for this.

ABILITY will butter up here after posting an impressive win over 1100m at Geelong last Thursday. He gets 61kg but with apprentice Ben Thompson’s 2kg claim will carry 59kg. The main danger.

BUCKLER was urged along to win his 800m trial at Cranbourne on August 8. He gets the in-form Damian Lane to steer after riding a double at Moonee Valley on Saturday. One of the better chances.

MANIHI MISCHIEF set a strong tempo before finishing fourth over 1000m here second up on August 10. He is fitter now and has champion jockey Damien Oliver as his new rider.

JUNGLE EDGE won here before he was elevated to top class where he chased Voodoo Lad home in the Regal Roller at Caulfield on August 13. Easier here.

OSCAR’S MY MATE didn’t run out the 1600m last start here on August 7. Apprentice Beau Mertens’ 3kg claim sees him carry a mere 51kg.

DEL PRADO is a consistent galloper and has been freshened on his last start seventh over 1600m at Flemington on July 9. Apprentice Jordan Childs’ 1.5kg sees him carry 56.5kg.

TOP RAVINE fought tooth and nail right to the line when finishing second over 1743m at Sale at his last start on August 3. Craig Newitt steers here and is a good chance.

FIRST COURSE will be looking to keep the edge on Top Ravine after beating him narrowly over 1743m at Sale on August 3. Will carry 56kg with Ben Thompson’s claim.

VENGEUR MASQUE is a staying import from France who is an interesting runner here making his Australian debut for trainer Michael Moroney. One to watch.

ORIENT LINE (Best Roughie) charged home like a train to snatch third place over 1200m here first-up on August 7. Bound to be fitter and a good chance in an open race.

TAPESTRY VISION bounced back to record a smart win over 1400m at Geelong. He won at Pakenham three starts ago and gets his chance again from gate six.

WALL STREET WOLF has been an impressive winner at his past two starts at Geelong. Nicholas Hall keeps the ride after his win over 1300m on August 12.

POLAR VORTEX comes into this race first-up with good credentials. He ran a solid third over 800m in a trial at Cranbourne on August 8. His prior form last campaign was tops.
