9-race card here at Randwick and we’re greeted with a Soft 6.
There is the chance of a track upgrade with fine conditions expected throughout the day.
The rail is out 6m for the entire circuit.

SO WILLIE deserves a win after placing at his last three and has the ratings to go close in this. Came from well back for third over 2000m last time but drops to a mile today and has a good record at the trip including a second placing here two runs back. Bowman goes on for the first time and should get a cushy run from gate (3).
SIGNPOSTED is flying at present winning his last three on the trot, two of them by big margins. Drops back 300m on his last two but won at this trip three runs back when bolting in by almost 6L and is again not badly off at the weights after the claim.
SALTHOUSE worked home okay at his first Australian run, will be fitter and suited by the step up in trip. From barrier (9) and with James McDonald on board there are a few positives for the import.
DEE I CEE is better over further but did place when resuming at this track and distance last campaign. Should get the perfect run from barrier (1).
SELECTIONS: No5 SO WILLIE, No1 Signposted, No4 Salthouse, No3 Dee I Cee
VALUE RUNNER: No3 Dee I Cee
R2 12.45pm TAB SUPPORTS JOCKEYS TRUST HANDICAP 2000m
DUBAIINSTYLE (Next Best Bet) has really put it together winning his past two outings. Bolted in at this course over a mile then scored a narrow victory at his first attempt at this journey last time. This doesn't look any tougher and if he runs up to his recent form he will be tough to beat again.
LANCIATO hasn't had the best of luck of late, being blocked for a run at his past couple of outings and did a good job to still run second last time. Trying this distance for the first time but should get the favours in the run from the rails draw.
THUNDER DOWN UNDER may be improved by his two runs in Australia. He made ground last time after being blocked for a run early in the straight and gets blinkers back on today.
DOWDSTOWN CHARLIE is back in distance but is racing in good form. From barrier (6) and with only 56.5kg, he should work into the race nicely.
SELECTIONS: No4 DUBAIINSTYLE, No5 Lanciato, No2 Thunder Down Under, No6 Dowdstown Charlie
VALUE RUNNER: No2 Thunder Down Under
R3 1.20pm DAILY TELEGRAPH MING DYNASTY QUALITY 1400m
SWEAR looks a colt of promise. At his only run as a juvenile he settled back in the field but charged home to win a rich race at Hawkesbury. That was over 1300m and gave the impression he would be suited by today's journey and further and should be ready to fire off two recent trials.
TAJ MAHAL has the fitness edge on Swear after resuming with a solid run in the G3 Up And Coming Stakes when beaten less than 3L. Has always shown some ability and may be ready to put it all together this time in.
HIGH MIST has been racing through the winter but that sees him hard fit for this and he hit the line well for a close up Rosehill second last time. He’s drawn perfectly in barrier (4) and has Hugh Bowman on board.
SKYLIGHT GLOW won two of her three runs at her initial campaign and has been prepared for her return with two trials.
SELECTIONS: No3 SWEAR, No2 Taj Mahal, No4 High Mist, No1 Skylight Glow
VALUE RUNNER: No3 Swear
R4 1.55pm TAB HIGHWAY HANDICAP 1400m
GALAXY WARRIOR showed good promise at his initial campaign, scoring back-to-back wins before running second in his first attempt at a Highway Handicap. Far too good when romping home at Narromine first-up and won his only previous second up attempt.
GRAND ROUGE is becoming a regular in Highway Handicaps and deserves a win after running close up third today. Has a key gear change with winkers replacing blinkers.
ASSURITY has done little wrong this campaign scoring back-to-back country wins before a good provincial second last time.
LUXURY charged home to finish close up last time and should be peaking third up. Barrier (16) will see this mare get out in price, but the 2kg claim does help.
SQUIDENSQUIZZ had a solid run here last start. Always wide without cover and never really got a clear crack at his rivals in the straight. Right in the mix from a good gate.
FLAMING COMMODITY is unbeaten in two runs at this trip and chasing successive victories after winning at Taree last start. Rates as one of the key chances from a good gate.
HIGH TEC never got clear and looked to have something to offer at Randwick last start. Back in distance a query, but still a place chance.
SELECTIONS: No1 GALAXY WARRIOR, No11 Grand Rouge, No6 Assurity, No2 Luxury
VALUE RUNNER: No8 High Tec
R5 2.35pm THE MOSTYN COPPER GROUP HANDICAP 1400m
TSARITSA is a class mare who took giant strides over the winter winning three on the trot including the G2 Queensland Guineas where she beat the boys. Doesn't look badly placed as a stakes winner in a benchmark and has a win and a placing from two previous fresh runs. Backing up off a trial this week so that should have her ready to fire.
BURNING PASSION can't boast those form lines but she has been racing consistently and has the edge on fitness. She has yet to miss a place in three runs at this course and gate (1) should suit her style of racing.
TORGERSEN didn't have a lot of room when resuming so the effort was good. May want further but showed stakes ability in the autumn.
TESTASHADOW has won four of his last six including when resuming but has yet to strike second-up. Drops from 61kg to 58kg with the 3kg claim to Deanne Panya.
SUPER TYCOON keeps taking the step up and chasing five straight wins. Two of those over the Randwick 1400m.
SELECTIONS: No5 TSARITSA, No9 Burning Passion, No7 Torgersen, No2 Testashadow
VALUE RUNNER: No2 Testashadow
R6 3.10pm FITZY & WIPPA’S FAST & FURIOUS STAKES 1200m
I AM A STAR charged home for a good G3 win at Caulfield when resuming, beating the promising Leotie who has franked the form since. Has different form lines to most of these but has won three of four and should be improved second-up.
GLOBAL GLAMOUR created a big impression when bolting home at Kembla on debut. That win sparked talk of the Golden Slipper but her campaign was aborted due to shin soreness. The time off may have worked in her favour and she comes off a strong recent barrier trial win.
HONESTY PREVAILS was one of Sydney's better two-year-old fillies, winning at stakes grade on debut and running fifth in the Golden Slipper. Has been placed at both of her trials.
AWOKE is unbeaten in two runs. This is tougher and she may want further but look for her hitting the line. She has drawn barrier (13) which does make this assignment a bit more challenging.
FOXPLAY resumes from a nine-week break between races and has trialled in the interim. Showed plenty of promise last preparation winning at Rosehill. Looks right up to this grade.
SELECTIONS: No1 I AM A STAR, No 12 Global Glamour, No2 Honesty Prevails, No8 Awoke
VALUE RUNNER: No7 Foxplay
R7 3.50pm TATTERSALLS CLUB CHELMSFORD STAKES 1600m
It’s hard to see how the star mare WINX (Best Bet) is going to be beaten as she aims for an 11th straight win. Showed she had returned as well as ever with a dominant win in the Warwick Stakes first-up against many of the same rivals and should only be fitter again second-up. Has a phenomenal record at the course and distance.
PRIZED ICON is the wildcard. He would have to go to another level to beat Winx but he is a smart three-year-old who is unbeaten in two runs at this distance, both at this course including the G1 Champagne Stakes. Improved by a solid returning run and does have a big pull in the weights.
HARTNELL made a solid return when second in the Warwick Stakes. Hard to see him turning the tables on Winx but the step up to the mile suits so he is a trifecta chance again.
PREFERMENT is better over further but did run fourth to Winx when resuming at this course and distance last campaign so could fill a similar position today.
MEDITERRANEAN and IMPENDING both face a class test today but each has shown promise.
SELECTIONS: No7 WINX, No8 Prized Icon, No3 Hartnell, No1 Preferment
VALUE RUNNER: No1 Preferment
R8 4.30pm TATTERSALLS CLUB TRAMWAY STAKES 1400m
The lack of speed in the race, may be ideal for LE ROMAIN (Best Roughie). A G1 winner over the autumn, he resumed with a solid second when fitness told on him late. He races well second-up so can improve plenty and has two wins and two placings from four attempts at Randwick.
It's been a long time between drinks for DIBAYANI but he made a good return to racing when a closing second in a G3 at Flemington. Hasn't missed a place in five second-up runs and raced well in Sydney last campaign.
HAPPY CLAPPER had a terrific autumn with placings in the Doncaster and Queen Elizabeth Stakes. Won't be fully wound up yet but his fresh course and distance statistics bring him into the finish.
HEAVENS ABOVE was also an autumn G1 placegetter and will be better for a closing first-up run. From barrier (3) and with only 54kg, she’s worth putting in your numbers.
SADLER'S LAKE finished his race off strongly when runner-up at Rosehill resuming. Has won two races at this track and distance and gets the chance to go one better fitter second-up.
SELECTIONS: No1 LE ROMAIN, No9 Dibayani, No2 Happy Clapper, No11 Heavens Above
VALUE RUNNER: No1 Le Romain
R9 5.10pm JAMES BOAG’S PREMIUM CONCORDE STAKES 1000m
JAPONISME is a G1 class sprinter resuming. He had a super honest autumn winning a G2 and placing in three G1s including the Lightning Stakes when resuming where he was only beaten 0.2L by Chautauqua. Always races well fresh so if he reproduces a similar performance today he looks tough to beat despite the weight.
KINGLIKE is somewhat of an untapped talent. His best run last campaign was first-up when a close second to subsequent G1 winner English and at his previous fresh run he won a G2 so is a definite danger first-up.
The Queensland flier HIDDEN PEARL has been terrific in two Eagle Farm wins this campaign and has both a fitness edge and a pull in the weights on top two.
BOSS LANE is a tough customer who loves Randwick and usually performs well second-up.
CRAFTINESS was a runner-up in a recent trial at Warwick Farm. Yet to finish worse than second in five first-up runs including two wins. A must for the exotics.
FEDERAL was a Rosehill winner over 1400m when resuming last preparation, but had trialled twice. Goes in all the exotics over the shorter journey here with just the one trial.
SELECTIONS: No1 JAPONISME, No2 Kinglike, No10 Hidden Pearl, No6 Boss Lane
VALUE RUNNER: No7 Craftiness
