There has been some rain around in the past week but Doomben dries so well and provided there isn't a downpour the track should be good. The rail is out two metres which means it should play fairly all day - refreshing after yet another debacle at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

A very good race for a midweek maiden as just about the whole field have either some handy race or trial form. The problem is lining up trials and races from different tracks.

DALLINGER has both race and trial form having been placed at Ipswich and has since won two Gold Coast trials. He should run a race.

MR WIND has won two trials at the Gold Coast, one before and one after a spell. The stable is going very well.

WHO'S YOUR DADDY won a Gold Coast trial and then ran well at Lismore in a good standard race last start.

AIRLIE MAN was very good only start behind a most promising horse in Magic Love.

YOU’RE SO VAIN will be the extreme outsider of the field and on form, rightly so. But he has actually won a race and was later disqualified. He was scratched from an easier race Saturday for this and on his day could be about the place.

SELECTIONS: NO2 DALLINGER, NO3 MR WIND, NO6 WHO'S YOUR DADDY, NO7 AIRLIE MAN.
VALUE RUNNER: NO10 YOU’RE SO VAIN.

This is a far weaker maiden and JENNIFER JUNIPER is close to a win after a narrow second at this track last start.

HIGH SPECS is very well bred and had some handy Victorian form before coming north. She trialled well at Deagon last month.

MANDELA DREAMING has also been racing solidly and just needs some luck from a tricky barrier here.

CLEVER BLAZE battled away last start and should be fitter now.

SHEZA YANKEE has been very immature at both her starts. She reportedly does have ability and might improve here at good odds.

SELECTIONS: NO1 JENNIFER JUNIPER, NO2 HIGH SPECS, NO6 MANDELA DREAMING, NO8 CLEVER BLAZE.
VALUE RUNNER: NO10 SHEZA YANKEE.

TIZ led and got run down at the Sunshine Coast last start when second. But she should be better suited around this smaller track.

KITTY SOFTPAWS has been in the betting market both starts and has been handy without being brilliant both times. Resumes here with a jump out but no official trials.

CHEAP DATE is another resuming without an official trial but again has reportedly gone okay in a jump out.

WRONG BIAS is another who has run well enough in two races to date. She does have some ability and might be a value hope against this weak field.

SELECTIONS: NO1 TIZ, NO12 KITTY SOFTPAWS, NO10 CHEAP DATE, NO13 WRONG BIAS.
VALUE RUNNER: NO13 WRONG BIAS.

MAGIC LOVE (Next Best Bet) was well beaten in an open three-year-old at her first start but she went far too hard in the lead that day. She has since won a Sunshine Coast maiden in a canter. Magic Love is very well bred and has overcome a paddock accident to race - it explains why she is a four-year-old with only two starts. But the stable has high hopes for her and from barrier (3) with the premiership winning jockey in Jeff Lloyd she looks very hard to beat in an otherwise only ordinary restricted race.

SELECTIONS: NO11 MAGIC LOVE, NO2 POWERFUL SAGA, NO1 NATIONAL TRAIL, NO7 MAJELLA MAGIC.
VALUE RUNNER: NO12 INVINCIBLE EXPRESS.
TACTICIAN showed a stack of pace before tiring when well beaten at Doomben last start. His previous form was handy enough for this and he has barrier (1) this time.

BEARSKIN is one of many horses who haven't handled Eagle Farm in recent times. It might pay to forget his last start failure there as he had good form last campaign and looks suited here from the good barrier draw.

SUNNY VICTORY was racing very well winning two races before his last-start failure when he was off the track the whole way. This is far easier and he is much better drawn.

JACK LANCASTER (Best Roughie) is no star but usually tries hard. He did trial okay at the Sunshine Coast recently.

SELECTIONS: NO 5 TACTICIAN, NO2 BEARSKIN, NO1 SUNNY VICTORY, NO7 JACK LANCASTER.
VALUE RUNNER: NO7 JACK LANCASTER.

KUZNETSOVA would have been our best bet for the day but she has a very ordinary barrier from this start. She will still be hard to beat because her two runs since coming from Victoria have been very good.

ZERO TOLERANCE raced well against better mares in the winter and was strong first-up when a winner. She should race well again.

MAGIC I AM is back in form with two solid efforts recently. She goes best this track.

LANIKAI was only fair first start this area but NSW form is good enough for this.

FLEUR D'ORAGE turned in her best dry track performance last start when third in a similar race this track. If there happened to be a surprise thunder storm she would nearly start favourite as she loves wet tracks.

SELECTIONS: NO5 KUZNETSOVA, NO6 ZERO TOLERANCE, NO4 MAGIC I AM, NO7 LANIKAI.
VALUE RUNNER: NO 9 FLEUR D'ORAGE.

BECKONING LIGHT was very strong at the end of 1350m here last start when an impressive winner. He should only be fitter for recent racing and loves this track.

STAROCITY has been running very well at the Gold Coast and this isn't much harder. He is overdue for a win.

BINARY has had no luck at all in recent starts and he is well drawn here which means he should be able to run on the pace.

HIT THE ROAD JACK was up to his old tricks first-up when loomed as a real chance at the 300m only to plod into fourth at the Sunshine Coast. He does race very well second-up and deserves one more go.

MOONLIGHT DANCER hasn't run for a month after leading and stopping at Eagle Farm. Freshened up here she could be good value.

SELECTIONS: NO8 BECKONING LIGHT, NO3 STAROCITY, NO4 BINARY, NO6 HIT THE ROAD JACK.
VALUE RUNNER: NO10 MOONLIGHT DANCER.

OUR CATCH (Best Bet) on face value this may look a strange race in which to make a best bet as OUR CATCH will be good odds. But he has been racing very well of late over this distance. Chelsea Jokic who has been riding plenty of winners in provincial areas will claim 3kgs meaning he gets in very well at the weights against a lot of the other chances. He is also well drawn which means he can either lead or sit just off the pace here. Several of the other main chances are poorly drawn and will need luck.

SELECTIONS: NO1 OUR CATCH, NO8 BEXSTAR 3, NO12 STELLA DI NOTTE, NO7 GOOD INTENTIONS.
VALUE RUNNER: NO14 FAVOURED GRACE.
