BEACH LIFE had no luck when elevated in class at his second start to run a sound sixth over 1400m at Flemington at his last start on May 21. Top jockey Luke Nolen is the new rider and plenty of upside.

JUST REWARDS has finished second at his two starts. Latest was outgunned by Theodolite over 1204m at Donald on August 27. Top jockey Mark Zahra is engaged and from a top stable.

TICKETING has been most reliable being placed at three of his four starts. Latest ran third over 1200m at Pakenham on August 16. Ace jockey Damien Oliver has stuck, but has a horror draw in (19).

ROYAL SHAME has been placed second at his two starts. Latest was the $3,30 favourite when runner-up over 1300m at Geelong on August 17. Has a good draw in barrier (2). Respected.

RIYADH has been racing in bold fashion over the longer journeys. Comes here with a win over 2025m at Cranbourne last start on August 11. Jockey Brian Higgins keeps the talented ride here and he gets a big relief in weight dropping from 59.5kg to 54.5kg. Big chance.

FINE EMBERS has been racing in great stead on provincial tracks. He gets a big relief in weight with apprentice Ben Allen’s 3kg dropping his weight to 51kg after lumping 61kg to finish third over 2045m at Warrnambool on August 25.

JUSTA HINT won here three starts ago over 1600m. At his latest effort he was pipped on the post over 1800m here on August 24. With apprentice Michael Dee’s 1.5kg claim he will carry 56.5kg which is a good weight in this field. Will be forward.

MORNING MIX is a Northern hemisphere import who will be vastly improved on his Australian debut when running sixth to the high class stayer Raw Impulse over 1800m at Caulfield on April 23. Hails from a big punting stable.

GRAND DREAMER (Best Bet) is racing in top form. Was second-up when scoring an impressive 2¼ length win over 1600m at Moonee Valley on August 20. He drops in class but he does go up in weight to 61kg because of his demotion in class. He has an excellent record of four wins, three seconds and two thirds from eleven starts at this distance.

INTO ORBIT is a lovely bred colt who raced away to a 4½ length win at his debut at Pakenham on August 23. Top Melbourne rider Dwayne Dunn steers again on this son of Northern Meteor and expect another bold effort despite a 3.5kg rise to 59.5kg.

WARRIOR OF JUSTICE made a big impression at his debut when pulling away to an emphatic 1¾ length win over 1109m at Echuca on August 22. Ben Allen rode and with his claim here the son of Hinchinbrook will carry 56.5kg. Top showing again.

I’M TELLING YA relished the drop in grade to score an impressive maiden win at his second start over 1200m at Pakenham on June 26. Was at $1.35 that day but does meet a few potential topliners here and will be at more lucrative odds.

GREAT SOUTHERN burst through for a convincing maiden win over 1205m at Mildura on August 19. Apprentice Michael Dee’s 1.5kg claim will reduce his impost to 57.5kg. Each-way chance.

SHILLELAGH hails from a leading New Zealand stable and has been reported to be working very well since arriving in Victoria. She has a big weight on 59kg, but she is a last start winner on June 18 and has a fine record of four wins and a second at six starts.

MOSSIN’ AROUND gets a big drop in class on her last start when running 14th in the Group 3 Cockram Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on August 27. Apprentice Ben Allen’s 3kg claim sees her carrying 55.5kg against her own sex and rates highly.

FOREIGN AFFAIR has been in sparkling form and with apprentice Michael Dee’s claim will carry 57kg. Chased hard when second over 1200m at Moonee Valley last start on August 20 and faces easier opposition here.

NOT A HAPPY CAMPER took the lead and then headed but fought on well to hold fourth place from Catch A Fire over 1200m at Moonee Valley on August 20. She goes up in weight to 57.5kg but has Craig Williams to off-set.

DEMONSTRATE (Next Best Bet) is from the top stable of Godolphin. He has been stakes-placed in Adelaide and would forget his last start when running ninth as a $3.50 favourite down the straight-six at Flemington. He has Craig Williams as his new rider and has a sound record first-up of three starts for a second and a third. He is down in grade here and should be primed for a big effort fresh.

PERFECTLY SAFE is a three-year-old filly who has been racing against her own age and sex. She won here three starts ago and at her last start ran home well when finishing third at $4.40 over 1400m at Caulfield on August 27. Carries 54.5kg with Regan Bayliss’ 1.5kg claim.

DU SUMPENT kicked hard to claim second over 1205m at Mildura on August 19. With apprentice Ben Allen’s 3kg claim will carry 3kg less on 56kg. Good chance.

VAINRITE was a good first-up winner over 1205m at Mildura before fighting on well to run second over 1300m at Bendigo on August 14. Carries 55kg with Jack Martin’s 3kg claim.

VAIN KINGDOM (Best Roughie) showed his rivals a clean pair of heels for a runaway win over 1209m on a heavy track at Echuca on August 22. Jake Bayliss’s 2kg will see him carry 58kg here.

TEMPERED wound up gamely but was outsprinted at first-up start over 1300m at Geelong on August 26. Damian Lane sticks and he will be fitter.

WHIRLPOOL showed she was primed for a forward showing first-up with a strong 1 ¾ length win in a 1000m trial at Pakenham on August 25. Resumed here off a 102-day break and respect.

SECRET PROPHET was first-up off a spell when he failed on a heavy 8 track after getting caught on the fence finishing seventh to the smart Chetwood over 1250m at Canterbury on August (10).
