No 6 KARAKA LASS (BEST BET) is chasing back-to-back wins after a Kembla Class One and maiden plate victory last start. Relished the step up in distance last start and is the one in the race with some upside.

No 4 HESSDALEN (NEXT BEST BET) put in a much improved effort finishing a close third at Hawkesbury last start. Should get the run of the race from the gate and looks very hard to beat.

CASS 'N' BLACK wound up late to just miss at Kembla last start. Peaks fourth-up at the 1800m and ready to win.

MOQUEEN placed in the G2 Reisling in her first preparation. Well beaten at Canterbury last start but gets her chance back to a provincial maiden.

READY FIRE AIM switched to Sydney by Hawkes Racing and best run in four starts last time out when placed on the Pakenham Synthetic. Have to respect the stable.

ROVING EYE placed this track and distance last start and bright place prospects again.

POLEMIC resumes and placed in a recent Randwick trial. Runner-up only start in his first preparation at Canterbury. Looks ready to go fresh but the wide draw no help.

MISS BALLANTINE resumes and placed in a recent Rosehill trial. In the market but had excuses when well beaten on debut at Randwick last January. Monitoring market moves closely.

Market watch on the first starters with POTENTATE and ROCKIT prominent.

MORAY struggled on a heavy 9 track here last start after placing at Wyong resuming two runs back. A drier track helps his chances.

SUDDEN BLITZ‘s race manners cost him second spot here last start. Just has to race truly to be right in the finish.

COYS overcame a wide run in transit when runner-up at Goulburn last start. Peaks third up and rates as one of the main chances.

Race 8 5:25pm HAWKESBURY RACE CLUB MOTEL CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1600m

PELETHRONIUS chasing back-to-back wins after a Nowra class one and maiden plate victory last start. Other win was at Kembla, so right up to provincial grade and a winning chance again.

ZIJIN CHENG did a good job to win his maiden at Scone last time out at second career start. Still open to plenty of improvement and a winning chance again.

SPEED HERO Canberra winner this trip two runs back before placing at Kembla last start. Gets in on the minimum and expected to be right in the finish again.

SURFER placed last two. Should be right at his peak fourth-up and definite place prospects again.
