MADEENATY was a $775,000 graduate from the Magic Millions Gold Coast sale. The daughter of Exceed And Excel is beautifully bred and hails from one of Victoria’s top stables. Hard to get a line on these two-year-olds making their debut as there is little trial form.

SPLASHETTE did have a trial and she raced with the leaders when running third over 800m on a Heavy 8 at Cranbourne on September 19. She is a daughter of Testa Rossa and has Craig Williams riding so she should go well fresh.

INQUIRY will be sharply improved on his sole trial when he was tardy out of the gate before finishing third over 850m in a trial at Randwick on September 19. Godolophin’s Nos 1 rider James McDonald rides him at his debut.

DAMASCUS DAME was given a solid trial when winning over 800m at Cranbourne on September 19. That was the daughter of Denman’s second hit-out. She was a $60,000 yearling purchase and appears ready.

SELECTIONS: No13 MADEENATY, No15 Spalshette, No7 Inquiry, No10 Damascus Dame.

VALUE RUNNER: No10 Damascus Dame.

R2 12.50pm POSEIDON STAKES 1400m

STYLEMAN absolutely ran his opposition ragged when kicking away to a 6 ½ length win in a 1200m maiden at Pakenham on September 10. He was backed into a $1.50 favourite that day and won as such. Luke Nolen picks up the ride here.

OUTBACK RAIN steps up against the males after giving an enormous run first-up when finishing third to the smart filly Exocet over 1400m here September 17. She only needs a bit more luck after being caught three deep last start to figure here.

ZUNBAQA ran a strong race against the males to finish fourth to Detective over 1400m here last start on September 10. Damian Lane is sticking to her and she has the same weight on 54kg and has drawn well in (6).

BENZ is a South Australian galloper who comes here with big wraps having won at four of his five starts. Top Melbourne jockey Dwayne Dunn rides and he drops a kilo to 56kg on his last-start win over 1200m at Morphettville on September 17.

SELECTIONS: No5 STYLEMAN, No13 Outback Rain, No12 Zunbaqa, No2 Benz.

VALUE RUNNER: No13 Outback Rain.

R3 1.25pm UCI STAKES 1800m

ROCKETEER has not had much luck but he is overdue for a change. He was charging home last start when finishing second over 1600m here on September 17. Dwayne Dunn replaces Damien Oliver so he has another top hoop to steer.

THROSSELL was the $6 favourite in a deep race when finishing third to Detective over 1400m here last start on September 10. He gets his chance here from a good gate in (2) and has Nicholas Hall as the new rider.

HIGHLAD is to make his Australian debut here. He comes here with big wraps after winning at his two starts back home in New Zealand and he hails from one of NZ’s top stables. Damien Oliver will ride but he has a horror draw in (18).

SELECTIONS: No6 Rocketeer, No1 Throssell, No7 Highlad.

VALUE RUNNER: No7 Highlad.

R4 2pm GILGAI STAKES 1200m

THE QUARTERBACK beat Black Heart Bart in the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap last campaign. He is well suited under the weight conditions here and is solid with two trials over 800m and 990m at Cranbourne. He will be flying home.

UNDER THE LOUVRE will be another sprinter who will be flying home. He too is well weighted here under the handicap conditions on 57kg. He is race fit after having two runs under his belt and top Melbourne rider Dwayne Dunn sticks to him.

FAATINAH scored a strong first-up win in the Group 2 Bobby Lewis here last start on September 10. Stable jockey Michael Walker is the new rider here, but the four-year-old is not as well weighted here under the set-weight conditions on 57kg.

STRATUM STAR is a tough campaigner from the stables of leading trainer Darren Weir. He is fresh here after last running at the Gold Coast on July 2 where he was a $3.40 favourite and ran third over 1400m. Craig Williams will pilot.

SELECTIONS: No2 THE QUARTERBACK, No1 Under The Louvre, No4 Faatinah, No3 Stratum Star.

VALUE RUNNER: No1 Under The Louvre.

R5 2.35pm| THE BART CUMMINGS 2500m

ALMOONQITH has an important gear change with the blinkers going back on here. He is going to be suited by the step up in distance on his 14th in the Naturalism (2000m) at Caulfield on September 17. Michael Walker rides and is well drawn in (2).

ALMANDIN scored a big win when racing away by two lengths over 2400m at Caulfield on September 24. Damien Oliver keeps the ride and he will again carry 55kg and has drawn ideally in gate (5). Respect.

ALOFT is an imported stayer who gave a good sight when finishing third over 2040m at Moonee Valley on September 3. Kerrin McEvoy replaces Damian Oliver who rides the stable-mate Almanadin and would expect a bold showing.

EXCESS KNOWLEDGE can improve on his last start eighth to Jameka in the Naturalism (2000m) at Caulfield on September 17. He is now fitter and the distance will suit this imported stayer with Mark Zahra keeping the mount.

SELECTIONS: No1 ALMOONQITH, No3 Almandin, No8 Aloft, No2 Excess Knowledge.

VALUE RUNNER: No1 Almoonqith.

EXOCET (Best Bet) looks most hard to go past on her last-start win. She blew away her rivals to score by a comfortable 2 ¼ lengths over 1400m at Caulfield on September 17. She carries 55.5kg here and the daughter of Smart Missile has Dwayne Dunn to steer. She is a winner of two of her three starts and again races against her own sex and age under set-weight conditions where she is well suited. Barrier (10) should not be an obstacle.

SELECTIONS: No2 EXOCET, No5 Eleonora, No10 Waterloo Sunset, No9 Whyouask.

VALUE RUNNER: No9 Whyouask.

HARTNELL (Next Best Bet) has been explosive in winning at his past two starts at Randwick. Comes here with brilliant wins in the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes (1600m) and Group 2 Hill Stakes (2000m). This Godolphin-owned Northern Hemisphere import will be ridden by stable jockey James McDonald and can embellish on a fantastic start to his spring campaign by winning here en-route to either the Cox Plate (2040m) or the Caulfield Cup (2400m). Looms as the one to beat again. SELECTIONS: No4 HARTNELL, No9 Jameka, No5 The United States, No7 Set Square. VALUE RUNNER: No7 Set Square.

MANAGERESS ran a big race first-up when running third to Don’t Doubt Mamma in the Group 2 Let’s Elope Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on September 10. She was at $26 that day and in a deep field here will be at lucrative odds again.

FRENCH EMOTION faces a wide gate but is a model of consistency. She ran hard when running second to Alaskan Rose over 1400m at Caulfield on September 17. Ben Melham is the new rider and she rates as a danger.

CLEMENCY (Best Roughie) has an excellent second-up record and will be sharply improved on her first-up start when finishing seventh to Alaskan Rose over 1400m at Caulfield on September 17. Nicholas Hall replaces Dwayne Dunn.

SELECTIONS: No10 Manageress, No12 French Emotion, No15 Clemency.

ULMANN was the $2.40 favourite when running second to Bon Aurum over 1400m here on September 10. Bon Aurum franked the form to win at the highest level at his corresponding start. Will lack nothing in horsemanship with Damian Lane as the new rider.

FEDERAL will be one of the main dangers on his last start close third to Sons Of John in the Group 3 Bill Ritchie Handicap at Randwick on September 17. Godolphin’s No. 1 rider James McDonald rides here and can combat the wide alley in (15).

SANTA ANA LANE has drawn well in gate (6). Was a great run when finishing a close third to Keen Array over 2200m at Caulfield on September 17. Goes up a kilo to 55kg and again will be strongly fancied in betting.
