No 1 BEL SELENE (BEST BET) was an impressive winner at Newcastle first-up and should get the ideal run from barrier (4). She’ll be hard to run down here.

BANUELO (NEXT BEST BET) was only narrowly beaten at the track and distance last start. The filly by Street Cry is drawn perfectly in barrier (3) and looks the logical choice in this race.
SELECTIONS: No5 BANUELO, No 8 One More A Lady, No10 Too Fast For Love, No2 Refuge Bay.
BRASSY BELLE has already brought up a win in this prep. Her form is consistent without being outstanding. The biggest question mark for her is racing over the 2100m.
CASS 'N' BLACK had every chance last start and ran well over 2400 metres at Kembla Grange. Dropping back in distance will suit but the 61kg isn’t ideal.
BARNEY RUBBLE has had 10 runs at the track and has finished in the top three on six occasions, with three of them being victories.
CROSSING GUARD (BEST ROUGHIE) has had four attempts at the track and distance and has run inside the top three on three occasions.
SELECTIONS: No3 BRASSY BELLE, No1 Cass ‘N’ Black, No4 Barney Rubble, No5 Crossing Guard
MAUZEL for John O'Shea looks the one here in a pretty ordinary race. She battled on well when resuming and she won second-up last campaign at the track and distance. She does have to carry 60kg, which is a slight question mark for a four-year-old mare.
GUD ONYA missed the start and then battled on well at Wyong last start. Drawn well here and has a good record at the 1600 metres.
HAWAIIAN ROSE is the likely leader in this race and does race well over the 1600m.
DISTORTED DEMAND has had five attempts at the track for a victory. He doesn’t win out of turn.
SELECTIONS: No2 MAUZEL, No6 Gud Onya, No5 Hawaiian Rose, No3 Distorted Demand
Race 8 5.35pm PAYNTER DIXON MAIDEN HANDICAP 1600m
ADDICTICRAFT was unlucky last start at Hawkesbury when held up in the straight. From barrier (4) and getting out to the 1600 metres he looks well suited.
STREET COMIC was well supported on debut and should take enough improvement from that race to be a contender again here.
PRODUCE ME LATE has been good at both runs to date, but will need a bit of luck from the bad barrier.
EVANESCE was fair on debut but is up against it from barrier (10) for her second career start.
SELECTIONS: No2 ADDICTICRAFT, No6 Street Comic, No3 Produce Me Late, No9 Evanesce
