Race 5 3:15pm RICHMOND CLUB TED MCCABE MEMORIAL CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1500m

REIBY THE RED (BEST BET) may not win out of turn but the two times he has done so were here at Hawkesbury. The way he has gone in two runs since the break has been really encouraging. The next win is right around the corner. The 1500m looks ideal from barrier (3).

SELECTIONS: No3 REIBY THE RED, No2 Circular, No6 Spinning Dawn, No5 Game Pie

Race 6 3.55pm MITAVITE PROVINCIAL STAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL – CLASS 4 HANDICAP 2100m

THE GAVEL has hit his straps with a vengeance and could be hard to get to again. He’s won two in a row over 2000m+ and this looks another winning opportunity from barrier (6).

PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS has to carry 60kg but is in good winning form. The step-up from 1900m to 2100m should suit.

HAYMATE will also appreciate the step up in distance and has a good record at the track with two victories and two placings from six attempts.

TRIANTAN is one from one at the track and distance and should get a nice run from barrier (3).

SELECTIONS: No3 THE GAVEL, No1 Pursuit Of Honour, No4 Haymate, No2 Triantan

Race 7 4.35pm LANDER TOYOTA LADIES DAY CUP 1400m

RELIGIFY was going to be our best bet of the day here. Unfortunately, with it now scratched, it looks a bit of a non-appealing betting race. MIGHTY LUCKY the best of the rest...

SELECTIONS: No1 Mighty Lucky, No10 Sebrina, No5 Famous Seamus.

Race 8 5:25pm REDBANK NORTH RICHMOND BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1100m

PALE ALE was strung up behind runners in a small field last start and O'Hara will surely keep things pretty straight-up and simple today and swing him out all clear from a fair way from home. Drawn nicely in the middle to settle somewhere in the midfield. His second-up form isn’t great, but this looks a winning option.

I AM MAGNIFICENT (BEST ROUGHIE) showed talent in that first prep and has trialled really well coming into this.

OUR FIRST LADY has won a recent trial and is one from one when first-up. She’s drawn in a tricky barrier but can definitely play a part.

SMOKIN’ VALENTINA impressed first-up and has won second-up before.

SELECTIONS: No5 PALE ALE, No3 I Am Magnificent, No7 Our First Lady, No9 Smokin’ Valentina
