Wyong for a rare midweek meeting, the program prize-money is given out as provincial level. Small field yet intriguing fields here.

The track will be in the good range, which is perfect for racing.

Quaddie (Races 5,6,7,8)
Skinny 4 – 1,3,5,7 – 1,4 - 1
Wide 4,5,6 – 1,3,4,5,6,7 – 1,2,4,10,11 – 1,6,7,8

Best Bet Race 1 No 1 - AMAZING STORY
Next Best Race 3 No 5 – LEGAL GIRL
Best Roughie Race 6 No 3 – NEVER BACK DOWN

R1 - 1:10pm. CG&E MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200m

Amazing Story (Best Bet) Loved the first-up run where he really savaged the line late. He dropped the bit early on over the 1100m and the step up here to 1200m is ideal. The winkers on will sharpen him up and with McEvoy retaining the ride he will be flying at them late.

Armet Ran up to market expectations last start. This is a weaker race and looks to control the speed.

Australia Justice Hit the line powerfully first-up in good time. The form around him is good enough for a race like this.

Caisson Platoon Ran well in the same race as Australia Justice last start. But off that he cannot turn the margin around.

SELECTIONS: No 1 AMAZING STORY, No 2 Armet, No 4 Australia Justice, No 5 Caisson Platoon

VALUE RUNNER: No 4 Australia Justice

R2 – 1:45pm F&M MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200m

Not A Cherry Should really be breaking through here. Started fav in all runs last preparation. Beaten by some nice horses. Trial was pleasing and should be winning this.

Epitomise Returned quite well at Newcastle and was nabbed late in running. Should be fitter for that effort and prove hard to get past.

Gold Dragoness Good behind Nonpariel last start and really closed off well. There was good support for her on debut at Newcastle and she should improve again here.

Painted Lady Trialed well leading into her first-up assignment here. Her most recent trial at this track was quite good.

SELECTIONS: No 1 NOT A CHERRY, No 2 Epitomise, No 4 Gold Dragoness, No 5 Painted Lady

VALUE RUNNER: No 5 Painted Lady

R3 – 2:20pm 2YO MAIDEN PLATE 1000m

Legal Girl (Next Best Bet) Really good behind Serena Bay on debut. She was able to lead her up in that race and the form was franked when the named rival was able to win at Rosehill last week. The trial since was good and I love the addition of blinkers. She will go forward from barrier (1) and give them something to chase.

Madonnica Showed good toe in her only trial leading into this race. Gai Waterhouse runners are really firing at the moment, but my knock on it is horses having only short-course trials before a debut / first-up run.

Stanley Park Trialed well leading into the debut run. “Team Takedown” pair up yet again and you should be wary of the two.

Sebring Express Comes out of a good race on debut. She was well beaten but looks next best.

SELECTIONS: No 5 LEGAL GIRL, No 6 Madonnica, No 3 Stanley Park, No 7 Sebring Express

VALUE RUNNER: No 3 Stanley Park

R4 – 2:55pm CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 2100m

Scandal Sheet Forget the last run when pulling up with an issue. Trial since was good and should be winning off recent form.

Justaway Has been running well in races such as these at Newcastle, smart claim and a good chance yet again.

Loud Enough Pulled up with an issue last start, drops well in the weights here and has a chance.

Sakhumzi Gets a chance to break through yet again here after good recent runs.

SELECTIONS: No 5 SCANDAL SHEET, No 6 Justaway, No 3 Loud Enough, No 4 Sakhumzi

VALUE RUNNER: No 6 Justaway

R5 – 3:35pm Maiden Plate 1600m

Fantastic Man Should be winning this. Was just touched off last start at Kembla, finds a very weak race and is well suited.

Guthrum Should take a closer position here. The form around Addicticraft is quite good and ties in here .

Quaff Will be better suited stepping up to the mile here. Was serviceable enough on debut.

Mitch ‘N’ Jazz Good enough at his last few, but will need to find another level to be winning this.

SELECTIONS: No 4 FANTASTIC MAN, No 5 Guthrum, No 6 Quaff, No 1 Mitch ‘N’ Jazz

VALUE RUNNER: No 1 Mitch ‘N’ Jazz

R6 - 4:10pm BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP 1600m

Baroque Girl Just found the 2100m a bridge too far last start. Dropping back to the mile suits and she’s a good chance after the claim.

I’m Bulletproof Won well at the course and distance last start. Looks to take up the running yet again and be hard to run down here.

Sworn To Silence Gets his chance to break back into the winners’ circle. Gets a good weight swing coming out of his last start and has won at the track before.

Never Back Down (Best Roughie) Drops well in grade after a good run in the Goulburn Cup which was run in fast time. The form out of that has been good and has a chance.

SELECTIONS: No 1 BAROQUE GIRL, No 5 I’m Bulletproof, No 7 Sworn To Silence, No 3 Never Back Down

VALUE RUNNER: No 3 Never Back Down

R7 – 4:45pm CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1350m

Cabeza De Vaca Should strip fitter after the first-up run back from the spell. Was run down late there and nothing gets a horse fitter than trying to lead all the way. Looks to take up the pace again.

Coys Hit the line well at Kembla coming off that win at Newcastle, has again found a suitable race here to continue her good recent form.

Tammany Hall Drops well in grade from the 85k race at Canterbury on Friday nights. Won well previous to that and has a chance here.

Validate Has been running well in similar grade to this as of late. Ran home well in really good time (33.7s last 600m) and finds a winnable race here.

SELECTIONS: No 1 CABEZA DE VACA, No 4 Coys, No 2 Tammany Hall, No 10 Validate.

R8 – 5:20pm CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000m

Treviso Was scratched at the gates on a Thursday meeting. Was $1.40 in that race too. The forced trial leading into this was quite good and he should be winning.

Viceman Big winner at Canberra on debut. Trial between runs was quite good. This looks to be a good stepping stone.

Never Out Comes back to provincial level after an indifferent run at Warwick Farm. The win on debut was quite good and at his home track for the first time he’s a chance.

Second Step Won well after a good debut run, he ran good time in winning and the form should stack up well out of it and he has a chance.

SELECTIONS: No 1 TREVISO, No 8 Viceman, No 7 Never Out, No 6 Second Step

VALUE RUNNER: No 8 Viceman
