BALLYBRIT Kept her punters happy when landing a clever win over 1600m as a $3.20 favourite here on December 2. Apprentice Regan Bayliss’s 1.5kg claim keeps her weight down to 58kg – a rise of 1.5kg on her last win.

ROYAL APPLAUSE Gets her chance to extract revenge after chasing home Ballybrit over 1600m here on December 2. She gets weight relief with a kilo drop down to 56.5kg and has top rider Dwayne Dunn booked to steer.

HOT RUBY Gave a brave effort when as a $2.60 favourite she ran a close second over 1430m at Traralgon on November 27. She is lumped with weight on 60.5kg here but is a chance.

SIMPLE SOLUTION Was backed from $8 into $4.60 and landed the money when a 3 ¾ length winner in a maiden over 1400m at Sale on December 4. Katleyn Mallyon rides on 56kg here.

No7 LUNAR SPIN (NEXT BEST BET) Was impressive enough in winning over 1600m here last start on December 2. He looks a four-year-old on the rise but he does not get much weight relief from the handicapper on 59kg for his rise in class here. He will have master horseman Dwayne Dunn to ride this Godolphin galloper, who can make it two on end here.




R6 – 9pm Shop For Shops Handicap – 2040m

ANEMOI Was specked at longer odds of $21 into $15 before running hard to finish a close second over 2040m here on December 2. He rises a half kilo to 60.5kg here and makes good appeal.

BAUBO Chased steadily enough to warrant here when finishing eighth over 1800m against her own sex at Sandown on December 7. Damien Oliver is the new rider.

POPPIHOLLA Was an imposing winner over 2000m at Werribee for senior rider Dean Yendall last start on November 29. Beau Mertens’ 2kg claim will see her carry 56.5kg here.

DESTINATION TUCSON Is a former Sydney mare who is bound to be improved on her Victorian debut when running fifth over 2000m at Sandown on December 7. Craig Newitt is the new rider.

GO DOWN Is racing in sensational form and she bloused her female rivals by 2 ½ lengths here over 1000m at her last start on November 18. Brad Rawiller sticks and she can land a hat-trick.

MANIHI MISCHIEF Was put away for a breather after, as a $4.60 chance, he ran fourth over 1000m at Sandown on August 24. Top rider Damien Oliver stays on board and can sprint well fresh.

MILITARY Lumped 64kg when he ran third over 1000m at Mornington on December 2. He gets minor relief down to 61kg here and has claims.

CORE BREACH Is an Adelaide galloper coming here off two smart wins over 1050m and 1000m at Morphettville in October. Apprentice Regan Bayliss’ 1.5kg claim reduces his weight to 60kg. He makes appeal.

R4 – 8pm Inglis 55sec Challenge Heat 9 - 955m

No2 CANNY ROCKET (BEST BET) Was heavily backed and scored convincingly by 2 ¼ lengths at his debut for new trainer Darren Weir over 975m at Swan Hill on November 27. Apprentice Jordan Child’s 1.5kg claim reduces his impost to 57kg, which is the same weight he carried when ridden by Dean Yendall to win last start. He has a good record of a win and three thirds at four starts.




R3 – 7.30pm ADAPT Australia Handicap – 1000m

ANATOLA Was put away by trainer Mick Price after she disappointed as a $2.25 favourite when finishing seventh over 1200m at Geelong on August 12. Price has booked top jockey Damien Oliver to ride her at her comeback and would respect.

MISS GIDGET Gets her chance back in this class after running fourth over 1000m at Pakenham on December 3. Ben Thompson’s 2kg claim reduces her impost to 59.5kg.

PONTE ROMA Was most impressive first up when claiming a narrow but smart win over 1000m against her own age and sex and lumped 59.5kg to do the job here on December 3. Carries 56.5kg here.

OUR VIDIA Is worth having a review here. She was disappointing when first up off a 102-day break when running fifth over 1100m at Bendigo on November 9. She has been freshened.

BULLISH STOCK Can repeat his effort of last start when a dominant winner over this trip on December 11. He gets the 1.5kg claim of apprentice Dylan Dunn here to drop his weight to 56.5kg and makes strong appeal

SLY ROMANCE Has been given a freshen-up after his disappointing ninth over 2300m at Ballarat on November 19. Top jockey Dwayne Dunn has been booked replacing apprentice Beau Mertens and he is worth giving another chance.

REAL JAZZ Is a grinding stayer who will be suited at this trip. He is tough and can bounce back from his eighth over 2500m at Flemington last Saturday. Senior jockey Katelyn Mallyon replaces apprentice Ben Thompson

VERREAUX Was a brilliant three-length winner over 2400m at Bendigo on November 30 before he went to town and ran seventh over 2500m at Flemington last Saturday. Senior rider Linda Meech gets the nod and he makes appeal.

ARMENIA Pays to ignore her first-up run as she bucked out of the gates and took no part in the race as a $4 chance at Mornington on December 2. She is well bred and is talented. Give another chance.

AGHNA Is a former NSW mare who is now in the stables of leading trainers Team Hayes. She has not raced since finishing seventh over 1200m at Canterbury in June. She gets top jockey Mark Zahra to ride at her Victorian debut.

SALLYBROOK Made a great start to her career with a strong run to finish second over 1206m at Benella on December 3. WA apprentice Jordan Turner rides but he can’t use his claim.

MILITARY OPERATION Has leading Victorian jockey Damien Oliver booked to ride. She is an Adelaide galloper who looms with claims on her debut seventh over 1000m at Morphettville on December 3.
