Punters - let's get into the festive cheer. Nice Christmas Eve meeting for our faithful here, hopefully we can find a few winners for some late Christmas present buyers. Happy to take on Waller at home today, the gloss seems to be off his stable in the last few weeks and maybe they are having an early Christmas? Big fields late on here, with the expected dry track due to warm weather in the lead-up. The rail is back to the true position and the track should get to good range by race day. QUADDIES (Races 6-7-8-9)

Skinny: 1,7 – 5,7 – 4,9 – 2,11,14
Wide: 1,3,4,7,8,11 – 1,2,3,5,7 – 2,3,4,6,8,9,10,13 – 2,6,11,14,16,17

BEST BET: R1 No3 FALCONIC
Next Best Bet: R2 No1 PIPELINE
Best Roughie: R9 No6 GOLD SYMPHONY

R1 - 12:40PM TAB.COM.AU PLATE – 1200m

No 3 FALCONIC (BEST BET) Big effort on debut where a lack of race awareness cost him. They crawled early in the race and really sprinted late. 1200m should suit, as well as the scratching of the main danger in Coorg. From barrier 5 he will get a good run and if he can work though his gears in the straight he will be hard to beat.

No 1 IPSO FACTO

No 12 WHISPERED SECRET

R2 – 1:20PM ATC MEMBERSHIP HANDICAP – 1400m

No 1 PIPELINE (NEXT BEST BET) Big win first-up in a good race which has held up form wise already. The step up to 1400m second up looks ideal here. Not too worried about the 61kgs as he is a big gross colt and he is going to get a really soft run on the map here. He will just need clear galloping room, but with Clark aboard he will get every chance.

No 6 JAMINZAH

No 3 ACHI BABA

R3 - 1:55PM TAB REWARDS HANDICAP – 1800m

MORE THAN FABULOUS Looks well suited on the back-up with no weight here. If the run on the heavy track hasn’t flattened this horse with only 52kgs on his back he is a big player, Payne horses usually perform better at Rosehill too.

REIBY THE RED Ran well in the ATC Cup last start and should be much more suited here in his right grade. He put up a big performance on pace in that race which was a last man standing run there. Back to 1800m not much of an issue and he has a chance.

EMBLEY Jumps quickly to 1800m here third-up from a spell. Both runs have been quite good this time in. He gets his chance to breakthrough as he should still have some sprint in his legs compared to others.

SELECTIONS: No 9 MORE THAN FABULOUS,No 7 Reiby The Red, No 8 Embley

VALUE RUNNER: No 8 Embley

R4 - 2:30PM HYLAND BOXING DAY SALE HANDICAP – 1350m

BONNY O'REILLY Won well at Canterbury when savaging the line over 1250m, the step up to 1350m has always looked as if it will suit her well. With Avdulla on board she drops 2.5kgs off her last-start win and she is the horse on the way up here.

GIRL SUNDAY Has taken all before her this preparation, what can you say about her. She’s taken everyone on and beat them. Mares once they get into form usually keep it and she has done that with the picket fence this prep. From gate 9 this looks a little tougher, but she has to be included again.

DEE NINE ELLE Was a big winner first-up in big time, she sat on the speed and kicked on well. She should be improved immensely fitness-wise for that. Has a brilliant record at the distance only missing the placings once before. Gollan seems to have found his groove in Sydney now and it would be wise to follow his in-form horses.

HARLEM LADY Was good enough first-up when too far back, the 1350m should suit her better here and Bowman up from barrier 1 are all positives. She only has a short sharp burst, so she will be held up as long as possible for that last crack at them.

SELECTIONS: No 8 BONNY O'REILLY, No 2 Girl Sunday, No 3 Dee Nine Elle, No 7 Harlem Lady

VALUE RUNNER: No 8 Bonny O’Reilly

R5 – 3:05PM TAB HIGHWAY HANDICAP – 1500m

I TOLD GEORGIE Big winner of a highway last start, the win was soft / dominant in the end. It ended a run of outs for Danny Williams and I’m happy to back that his horses will keep improving and, if so, she will be hard to beat.

CIRCLE GAME Huge winner first-up at Canberra, came from a mile off them there. Bowman on second-up and Dale looking as if this is a target race are all positives and with the way she came back, she will be hard to beat here.

MADAME DE BAN Wouldn’t be a highway without giving an M Dunn horse a chance would it. Solid run last start at Eagle Farm. Back onto dryer ground suits here and all Dunn horses just need to be included.

SELECTIONS: No 3 I TOLD GEORGIE, No 8 Circle Game, No 9 Madame De Ban

VALUE RUNNER: No 6 Poor Corner

R6 - 3:40PM MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM JAMES BOAGS PREMIUM HANDICAP – 1500m

GOLD AMBITION Perfectly set up for a win third-up from a spell here. He just missed in a driving finish last start. He should be only improved for those two runs this time in and from barrier 5 should get a more economical run here and have his chance to breakthrough.

HEARTLINGS Looks ready to take on the 1500m here after two solid runs this time in. She pushed forward last start and that probably didn’t suit her and she was just beaten late. From gate 3 she can sit just off them and with good pace in the race can finish off over the top.

KING DARCI Put up a monster effort last start when caught wide throughout. From barrier 12 yet again he looks to get a tough run, but he could be a bit more economical and go back, as he has shown in the past that he has a good turn of foot.

CABEZA DE VACA Dominated from the front last start and gave them a beating. He should roll forward yet again here and if he is given a soft run of it throughout, could well run them into the ground yet again.

SELECTIONS: No 1 GOLD AMBITION, No 7 Heartlings, No 11 King Darci, No 3 Cabeza De Vaca

VALUE RUNNER: No 7 Heartlings

R7 – 4:20PM DECEMBER HANDICAP – 1400m

BACHMAN Looks to get the race run to suit third-up from a spell. He has a short sharp dash on him on his day and from Barrier 1 Clark should be able to hold him up for that last crack at them here. His form is exemplary and he will be hard to beat.

ECUADOR Looks a lock to run a place here after his recent trials. His form first-up is fantastic with only one miss fresh and five other efforts in the first three. He has won five races at Rosehill and should be a player here.

SNOOPY Has done a good job winning his last two, I don’t know how I feel about Sydney, Melbourne and Sydney in his last three runs, that is a lot of travel for a horse in a preparation. He should get more pressure in front here and it could leave him wanting late.

SNIPPETS LAND Flashed at them late first-up and has had a trial since that run and it was serviceable enough. Up to the 1400m suits him perfectly as his peak performances have come at this distance in the past.

SELECTIONS: No 5 BACHMAN, No 1 Ecuador, No 7 Snoopy, No 3 Snippets Land

VALUE RUNNER: No 1 Ecuador

R8 – 5:00PM #THERACES HANDICAP – 1350m

SIR PLUSH Brings the best form to this race after solid runs at all starts this prep. Back to 1350m should suit him much better. Baker has his horses in the zone at the moment and we should butter up again here after a run of placings in recent efforts.

DARK STEEL Has form that ties in with Sir Plush and has to be respected here. His three runs back this time in have been good and I expect him to roll forward again and give them something to run down back on good going.

WE'RE SURE Brings a perfect fresh record to the race here, the two 1050m trials coming into the race should have him tuned-up and ready to go fresh. The booking of Shinn (Snowden has four in the race) shows me he is ready to go here.

SELECTIONS: No 4 SIR PLUSH, No 8 Dark Steel, No 6 We’re Sure

VALUE RUNNER: No 6 We’re Sure

R9 – 5:40PM TAB HANDICAP – 1200m

SUSPENSE Has trialled well between runs after some solid runs this time in. He is getting down to his right grade here after winning races early on in his career. Winkers on and Shinn from barrier 6 are all pluses and he is going to be hard to beat here.

ZIGGY WILLIE Has been in great form this time in. His last two wins have been quite strong and full of merit, his record is quite good and if Clark can get some cover early on he has a chance yet again.

GOLD SYMPHONY (BEST ROUGHIE) Returns as a gelding here and it could be the making of the horse. He was a good 3yo early on, winning a Vain stakes. He just never went on with it and now that he is a gelding he could well live up to his potential and a win wouldn’t shock.

SELECTIONS: No 11 SUSPENSE, No 14 Disgraceful, No 2 Ziggy Willie, No 6 Gold Symphony

VALUE RUNNER: No 11 Suspense
