The rail is out six metres which generally favours the horses able to get to the lead in the early part of the straight. It also helps horses up on the pace on wet days. The track got the tail end of a thunderstorm on Wednesday and there are more storms tipped, so keep an eye on the track rating. QUADDIES (Races 5-6-7-8)

Skinny: 1/1,2,3,5/1,4/2,7
Wide: 1,3,6,7/1,2,3,5/1,4,5,8/2,4,7,11

Best Bet: R1 – 7. MEGHAPUSHPA
Next Best Bet: R6 – 1. EXECUTED
Best Roughie: R7 – 5. EXCEED BATTLE

R1 – 12.28pm Hahn Super Dry Maiden Plate - 1200m

NO 7 MEGHAPUSHPA (BEST BET) This is a very week maiden and the she is very well placed at the Plate weight scale. She would have 59kgs in an open handicap maiden. She was beaten a nose at her first start this area after trialling well. Has good southern form and there is no depth to this race. She will be short odds but should win.

NO 3 INTERVENTIONS

NO 2 BUCHINSKI

NO 8 POET'S SOCIETY

R2 – 1.03pm XXXX Summer Bright Class 3 Handicap - 1400m

ASHGROVIAN Honest galloper who wasn't suited by a slow early pace last start. Winner here two runs back and provided he gets a track with some give in it he will be hard to beat.

SKYTREK Best as a middle distance horse but has won first-up and has class on his side.

JILL'S CHARM Good winner here two runs back and no luck last time. She has the top jockey and a perfect barrier here.

DEITCH Up in weights but placed in a much tougher city race last time. This looks ideal for him.

SELECTIONS: NO 6 ASHGROVIAN, NO 2 Skytrek, NO 4 Jill's Charm, NO 1 Deitch

VALUE RUNNER: NO 2 Skytrek

R3 – 1.38pm XXXX Maiden Handicap - 1600m

ENDLESS DON It is a surprise that he is still a maiden as he has run some handy races. Perhaps the fact he isn't very big has hampered him with big weights. One thing he is from a family of mudlarks so if it rains he will be extra hard to beat. MURT REYNOLDS He has been nominated for several places this week but if he runs here he is very well suited and looking for 1600m now. WHAT'S THAT Not bad when second last start in a similar race and drawn to get a nice run here. BIDZIIL Form doesn't look strong but if he jumps with the field he isn't without talent. SELECTIONS: NO 5 ENDLESS DON, NO 3 Murt Reynolds, NO 4 What's That, NO 11 Bidziil VALUE RUNNER: NO 11 Bidziil

R4 – 2.13pm James Squire QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Plate - 1200m

SURGE BLANCO He was very heavily backed for a maiden at this track last month only to be a late scratching. He then tackled a tough maiden at his first start also at this track and ran a good fifth. He has shown plenty on the training track and ready to win now.

ZOFF OF THE WORLD Ran a couple of nice races before a spell and should be ready to give this a shake from barrier five. Has trialled twice for comeback here.

RAJA AMPAT He trialled well before good last-start second. Looks to have come back to racing a stronger horse.

DAWN FIGHTER Ran some good races last time and this isn't much harder than those races.

SELECTIONS: NO 6 SURGE BLANCO, NO 8 Zoff Of The World, NO 4 Raja Ampat, NO 11 Dawn Fighter

VALUE RUNNER: NO 11 Dawn Fighter

R5 – 2.52pm Hahn Super Dry 3.5 QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Plate - 1200m

PUBLISHING POWER Ran two thirds at his only starts last campaign but showed plenty of ability. The stable is noted for first-up winners and drawn to get a good run here.

SHONECK AFFAIR Caught the eye in a recent trial and had fair form last campaign. Looks to have come back a better horse.

STYLIAN He hasn't run since good Ipswich third but went nicely in a recent trial. Has drawn the inside barrier and should be among the chances in this race which is easier than first heat.

GOLDEN SUNSET Well beaten last start but did battle on strongly for second. He will probably be near the lead here which gives him claims.

SELECTIONS: NO 3 PUBLISHING POWER, NO 6 Shoneck Affair, NO 7 Stylian, NO 10 Golden Sunset

VALUE RUNNER: NO 10 Golden Sunset

R6 – 3.32pm XXXX Gold Open Handicap - 1000m

NO 1 EXECUTED (NEXT BEST BET) This is a typical provincial class sprint but Executed is a stakes winner last season. He has won 14 races and also looked good beating a smart line-up in a recent Deagon trial. He has plenty of weight but has earned it and from barrier three he does look hard to beat.

NO 3 LADY JETSETTER

NO 6 SUNDANCE

NO 7 REAL GOOD

R7 – 4.12pm XXXX Class 1 Handicap - 1000m

I'M THINKING He has had a few problems in his career so is lightly raced. Two runs back from a spell have been good and he is fitter. On best form would win this.

EXCEEED BATTLE (BEST ROUGHIE) Has raced well on occasions in the NSW provincial areas. He did trial solidly here recently and he has the inside barrier and the leading jockey.

TAILGATING He has run some very good races against smart horses but has won only once. Trialled well for this and not without a hope despite top weight.

MUDDY ROPE At only start showed plenty of ability to win a maiden at this track. This isn't much harder.

SELECTIONS: NO 2 I'M THINKING, NO 5 Exceed Battle, NO 1 Tailgating, NO 3 Muddy Rope

VALUE RUNNER: NO 5 Exceed Battle

R8 – 4.48pm The Gorgeous Class 2 Handicap - 1200m

SHEEZALADY Hasn't been far away in similar races of late. She just lacks something at the finish but drawn the rails here and should get a soft run.

BEAT STREET Trained this track and has turned in two good runs at latest outings. One of the best chances here.

CRUISE POWER Retuned to his best form with a surprise win at Doomben last start. Only has to repeat that to be a chance here.

PRECIPITATE Has won both his starts in easier company in Toowoomba. Has shown pace both times and will probably lead here.

SELECTIONS: NO 5 SHEEZALADY, NO 4 Beat Street, NO 1 Cruise Power, NO 8 Precipitate

VALUE RUNNER: NO 8 Precipitate

R9 – 5.30pm XXXX Summer Bright Class 1 Handicap - 1400m

TINGLE MARC Impressive winner at his only start but didn't show much last start. The stable has a big wrap on him and he deserves another chance.

DEEKS He doesn't win too many but usually about the place. Scratched a few times lately in order to run here.

FOX FORCE FIVE Both his runs have been strong and this isn't the toughest race of the day.

TOP PEAK He was racing very well before a break and trialled solidly before comeback run when well beaten after having little luck.

SELECTIONS: NO 2 TINGLE MARC, NO 4 Deeks, NO 7 Fox Force Five, NO 11 Top Peak

VALUE RUNNER: NO 11 Top Peak
