Eagle Farm Betting Preview | Horse Racing Tips

Back to Eagle Farm with the rail out 12 metres the entire course. Of course that means small but tricky to assess race fields.

Tue, 27 Dec, 8:12 PM
The track should play fairly unless it rains which is always a chance this time of the year. Once again look for horses which have raced well at Eagle Farm on the new surface.

QUADDIES (Races 5-6-7-8)

Skinny: 2,4/1,8,9,11/1,6/7,10
Wide: 1,2,4,8/1,8,9.11/1,5,6,9/1,3,7,10

Best Bet: R3 – 2. LOVE A ROSE
Next Best Bet: R1 – 6. ZARABEEL
Best Roughie: R7 – 9. LADY NO MORE

R1 – 12.25pm SKY Thoroughbred Centrao Maiden Plate - 2237m

NO 6 ZARABEEL (NEXT BEST BET) As we have pointed out on several occasions there was a wrap on this mare when she raced in Victoria. She contested a Victoria Oaks. Her form in Queensland has got better as the distances have got longer. She has a light weight against an ordinary line-up here and should finally win her maiden.

R2 – 1.05pm New Years Eve Raceday QTIS Two-Years-Old Maiden Plate - 1200m

ARCHIE BOY He is from an in-form two-year-old stable and trialled fairly at the Sunshine Coast. He could improve here.

CINZIA Has had two trials and gone fairly each time without being asked to do too much.

SELECTIONS: NO 2 ARCHIE BOY, NO 6 Cinzia, NO 7 Soul Secrets

R3 – 1.40pm Hamilton Hotel Fillies and Mares Class 2 Handicap - 1000m

NO 2 LOVE A ROSE (BEST BET) A very promising filly who ran into another smart horse when second first-up. She was scratched from Saturday to run here and this is much easier. She has drawn barrier one which means she can lead or sit on the pace. Does look by far the best of the day against an ordinary field.

R4 – 2.15pm GA Season Pass Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 2 Handicap - 1000m

COURTZA KING Now in the Tony Gollan stable and has strong form at the NSW provincials which is usually good enough to win in these Brisbane races. No trial but has had a jump out.

OLD TRIESTE Better known as a 1600m horse but has been placed twice first-up. Has run well in far stronger Melbourne races.

SI SI SEQUALO Well beaten last start but previous form was handy for a race like this one. Each-way claims here.

THE MECHANIC A first starter maiden in a Class 2 but has won three trials in very good fashion. He has to be the main danger.

SELECTIONS: NO 1 COURTZA KING, NO 3 Old Trieste, NO 6 Si Si Sequalo, No 7 The Mechanic

VALUE RUNNER: No 7 The Mechanic

R5 – 2.50pm Gallopers Sports Club Class 4 Handicap - 1000m

SILIQUA We would have made him a best bet but this is a tricky race. If there is plenty of early pace he can storm home over the top of them. He goes very well first and second-up and did win easily at first run back from a spell.

LA DOLCE VITA Extra smart mare who has plenty of tricks. At her best would win this but you have to catch her on her day. Has trialled nicely for her comeback.

BEAU JET Would run on at the end of the Tour De France but one day he will win a race like this.

JADEDFOX Is finally starting to live up to his promise with two recent wins. Just needs a touch of luck here.

SELECTIONS: NO 2 SILIQUA, NO 4 La Dolce Vita, NO 1 Beau Jet, NO 8 Jadedfox

R6 – 3.25pm WWW.BRC.COM.AU Maiden Plate - 1400m

BEAU ISA Why this is a leg of the quadrella is anyone's guess but Beau Isa has raced well at both his starts and has a form edge on most of these.

YESIDO A much better run first-up from a spell and suited in this type of race.

FAST VISION Has been racing extremely well without winning. Just lacks a bit at the finish but gets a chance to win here.

SCARLET BEGONIAS Her two runs back from a spell have been good and should be much fitter now. Strong each-way chance here.

SELECTIONS: NO 1 BEAU ISA, NO 8 Yesido, NO 9 Fast Vision, NO 11 Scarlet Begonias

R7 – 4.05pm BRC Memberships Class 3 Plate - 1600m

EL GRECO He was placed in a stakes race in Melbourne but has been only fair in tougher races since coming north. This is easiest race for some time and should improve here.

LADY NO MORE (BEST ROUGHIE) On her day she is pretty smart and down in weights now. Placed in handy company at recent runs and has a top jockey. But will be value.

HICKSON ROAD Has been good winning two of past three starts. Starting to get up in the weights but more honest than most of these.

REALLY REILLY Needs plenty of pace in his races and should get it here so should improve on fair effort last time.

SELECTIONS: NO 5 EL GRECO, NO 9 Lady No More, NO 1 Hickson Road, NO 2 Really Reilly

R8 – 4.40pm Giddy Up Club Benchmark 75 Handicap - 1200m

LOVE AND LIES A terrific run in stakes class last time and she has a 3kgs claim here from her regular rider. The barrier draw is no bonus but has the pace to get across and lead these easily.

TISANI TOMSO Seems to go much better when drawn near the fence which is the case now. Can surprise here.

CONFRONTING Back to near his best form last time and still down in the weights.

HEART SKIPT A BEAT Has always shown ability and ran third in a Group One race before a spell. Did nothing in his trial but not asked to do much. Placed at two first-up runs the only knock is he won't be much value.

SELECTIONS: NO 1 LOVE AND LIES, NO 3 Tisani Tomso, NO 7 Confronting, NO 10 Heart Skipt A Beat

VALUE RUNNER: NO 3 Tisani Tomso
