The fields have stood up well despite the saturation of race meetings during the Christmas break. The track is rated as a Good 4 and showers are predicted but good conditions should prevail. The rail is at four metres for the entire circuit.

R1 – 1.30pm Mornington Food Truck Carnival Maiden Plate 1500m

CLAUDIA’S BEAUTY Kept on boxing away when finished third over 1400m in a fillies and mares maiden at Cranbourne on December 10. Gets the experienced Daniel Stackhouse to ride here and is well drawn for a soft run in four.

HELLAVA BABE Is now fully fit having her third start here. Latest gave a solid effort to run fourth over 1421m in a fillies and mares’ maiden at Geelong on December 15. She has a superior draw in gate three after jumping from 13 last time.

STAR PATRIOT Was laying in but made steady ground in the straight when finishing second over 1462m in a fillies and mares’ maiden at Kilmore on December 12. Drawn well in five and respect.

WICKED SENSATION Finished right on their heels in the same maiden as Star Patriot at Kilmore on December 12. She hails from Team Hayes and is sure to be fully fit for this encounter and can threaten here.

BEL BLASTER Showed a lot to like when finishing third in a strong maiden over 1300m at debut on November 30. Jamie Mott replaces Damien Oliver but on the debut effort expect him to finish strongly here.

SERVEUR Given two barrier trials before making debut here. Latest ran a good second over 1000m at Tatura on December 13. Hails from the top yard of Team Hayes and has apprentice Regan Bayliss to steer.

TOMMY STANDUP Is a stablemate to Serveur and was given two solid trials. Latest ran a close third over 1000m at Tatura on December 13. This son of Hussont has drawn a shade wide in eight but expect a forward showing.

PIRELLINA Gave a steady effort at her debut to finish seventh over 1100m against her own sex in a maiden at Sale on December 4. Given natural improvement she can loom as a threat in a mild maiden here.

FILIUS Ran a smart second over 1000m in a maiden at Bairns on December 13. Defied a betting drift from $6.50 to $9 to rally down the home stretch and rates highly here.

RUTH’S BOY Lost all chance when he knuckled over at the start as a $2.40 favourite over a 1000m in a maiden at Bairns. He gets Chris Symons as the new rider and respect.

CHARLESTON DANCER She was having her second start when finishing fourth as a $3.90 favourite in a 1000m maiden here on December 2. She gets a change of rider with Stephen Baster the new pilot.

R4 – 3.00pm European Autos Refinishers Maiden – 1200m

No 4 LET’S GO TO RIO (BEST BET) Gives favourite backers the chance to get their money back here. He was first past the post but lost the race on protest as a $1.40 favourite over 1000m in a maiden at Cranbourne on December 10. Top jockey Noel Callow keeps the ride and he is again favourably drawn in gate three to get a soft passage. Hard to go past.




R5 – 3.30pm Travel Managers Handicap BM64 – 1000m

MY PASSPORT Struck a strong field first-up when finishing third over 1010m at Werribee on December 11. Top jockey Dwayne Dunn stays on board and can handle the rise in weight to 69kg in this field.

HOLY HEART Has the blinkers removed and gets apprentice Chris Caserta’s 2kg claim which reduces his handicap to 58kg. Ran a good third over 1200m at Yarra Valley. Is well-tried but racing well.

A PRIVATE PARTY Has a big weight but with Ethan Brown’s 2kg allowance drops to 62kg. Gave a solid effort when running fifth over 1000m at Moonee Valley on December 16.

R6 – 4.00pm Argyle Maintenance Handicap BM70 – 1200m

No 5 KEEP NOT A DAY (NEXT BEST BET) Scratching of Amadeus gives him every chance here. Won comfortably over same distance last start by 1.3 lengths. Jump in grade should prove no worries as suspect this is a field without a heap of talent. Weir stable flying.


R7 – 4.30pm Robert Fitzgerald Memorial BM64 Handicap – 2414m

KING VALOUR Is a son of famed staying sire Zabeel and has hit his strap with an effortless maiden win over 2050m at Moe on December 9. Noel Callow replaces Michael Walker and will lack nothing in horsemanship.

RED SENSATION Was well fancied at $6.50 but blew the start and the race when finishing 14th over 2400m at Sandown on December 7. Senior rider Brad Rawiller is the new rider.

BIANAJEUNEY Bounced back to top form with a smart win over 2000m on a heavy 8 at Kyneton on December 8. Craig Newitt is the new rider and can handle weight increase to 58.5kg.

PROSPECTOR Was well fancied and gave a good sight to run third over 2415m at Mornington on December 13. Daniel Moor replaces apprentice Ben Thompson.

BIG KNIGHT Converted his excellent trial form to the racetrack when scoring a brilliant first-up win over 1420m at Werribee on December 11. He drops 1.5kg to 58.5kg and Noel Callow rides again. CASINOHOLIC Was well fancied before posting a narrow win over 1500m here on December 14. She gets senior rider Daniel Moor replacing apprentice Ben Thompson and goes up 2kg to 56.5kg.

NORTHERN SHOWDOWN Gets a big drop in weight down from 60kg to 54.5kg with the 2kg claim of apprentice Chris Caserta. She ran a close second first-up over 1420m to Big knight at Werribee and respect.

SENSATION ALLY (BEST ROUGHIE) Pay to forgive last start when sped and lead before finishing sixth over 1500m here on December 14. She gets a 2kg weight drop to 57.5kg against open class here.
