Doomben Betting Preview | Horse Racing Tips

Of all the tracks in Queensland, Doomben is the one which has been playing the fairest.

The rail is out 5.5 metres which means that front runners usually have an early advantage but as the day wears on the back markers can also win. The weather forecast is for mainly fine weather so the track should remain good. The fields are small and it is a midweek standard meeting which often throws up upset results. QUADDIES (Races 5-6-7-8)

Skinny: 3,5,6 - 3 - 2,5,10 - 1,5
Wide: 3,5,6,7 - 1,3,4,7 - 2,5,8,10 - 1,2,5,9

Best Bet: R6 – 3. TRUE PASSION
Next Best Bet: R4 – 6. WALWA
Best Roughie: R3 – 3. QUEEN TARA

R1 – 12.28pm Sky Thoroughbred Central Maiden Handicap - 1640m

LUJAC He has had a lot of chances but has got into the place a few times at big odds of late. Races like 1600m will suit around this track and this is a very weak affair. Gets his chance to finally win a race.

KITTY Runs home okay and hasn't been far away past couple of starts. Again this is so weak she has a chance.

HIGH WIND Plods along in his races and one of these days might even win one. Has each-way claims here.

MAKING SHADOWS He was good at his first start and then struck trouble last time. Give one more go now he is out to 1600m around this course.

SELECTIONS: NO 7 LUJAC, NO 8 Kitty, NO 1 High Wind, NO 4 Making Shadows

VALUE RUNNER: NO 4 Making Shadows

R2 – 1.03pm WWW.BRC.COM.AU QTIS Two-Years-Old Maiden Plate - 1050m

CHAPPO This is almost impossible to tip in because there are eight runners and only two have had an official trial or raced. At least has been entered for some much better races of late and scratched to run here.

MISHANI ALLURE The only one with any race experience and wasn't too bad in a much harder Saturday juvenile race when had little luck. Experience might tell here.

THOR FOOT Another first starter who has not trialled. The stable is another having a good two-year-old season.

SELECTIONS: NO 1 CHAPPO, NO 5 Mishani Allure, NO 8 Thor Foot

VALUE RUNNER: NO 5 Mishani Allure

R3 – 1.38pm Hamilton Hotel Class 4 Handicap - 1200m

RIGHT ADVICE He has raced against much better horses than this and back in form last start with a strong win. Drawn well here in a tricky race but looks hard to beat.

COMACINA An honest horse who is better known to race well over a longer trip. Has won first-up on two occasions and while beaten in a recent trial it was against some very good horses.

QUEEN TARA (BEST ROUGHIE) Well beaten in the Northern Rivers at first run after a long spell. But we did like her earlier trial and she has form around very good horses although over 15 months ago.

MAJELLA MAGIC Back at her right distance here where she can sit back in the field and sprint home hard.

SELECTIONS: NO 2 RIGHT ADVICE, NO 1 Comacina, NO 3 Queen Tara, NO 5 Majella Magic

VALUE RUNNER: NO 3 Queen Tara

R4 – 2.13pm GA Season Pass Class 3 Plate - 1640m

NO 6 WALWA (NEXT BEST BET) He has been racing very well at the Gold Coast winning two of his past three starts. He gets in very nicely at the weights here with a 3kgs claim for promising apprentice Michael Murphy. Has failed both his starts at 1600m but he is a much stronger horse now and should be good each-way odds.

NO 4 EXPAT ENVY

NO 8 BOCAGE

NO 3 EL GRECO

R5 – 2.52pm Gallopers Sports Club Fillies and Mares Benchmark 65 Handicap - 1050m

ROYAL HOOTENANNY Showed a lot of pace to win at the Sunshine Coast last start. Has a bad barrier here but the pace to overcome it.

PRIMED FOR DESTINY Best chance would probably be a thunderstorm and a wet track but a chance here in any conditions.

SELECTIONS: NO 6 Royal Hootenanny,NO 3 Primed For Destiny, No1 Sorority Sister

R6 – 3.32pm Doreen Bird Colts, Geldings And Entires Benchmark 65 Handicap – 1050m

NO 3 TRUE PASSION (BEST BET) He has been a consistent performer throughout his career and was a very good first-up winner in Toowoomba. Also goes very well second-up from a spell and with a 3kgs claim is nicely placed against this field. Drawn perfectly to lead or sit just behind the early pace. This isn't a strong race and looks very hard to defeat.

NO 4 DEEPEST

NO 1 KLAMMER

NO 7 STELLARCRAFT

R7 – 4.12pm BRC Memberships Ratings Band 0- 60 Handicap - 2040m

MORE THAN A ROSE This is very weak and not much depth to it. Has been racing well at the provincial tracks and does show potential as a stayer.

EXCITEMENT LEVELS He has had plenty of chances but at second run back from a spell was handy in a harder race. Each-way hopes this distance.

WATCHED Very one paced but usually plugs away these type of races.

MISHANI SCOUT He was very heavily backed last start but just plodded in the straight. Did strike some trouble and might go better around this smaller track.

SELECTIONS: NO 2 MORE THAN A ROSE, NO 5 Excitement Levels, NO 10 Watched, NO 8 Mishani Scout

VALUE RUNNER: NO 4 Excitement Levels

R8 – 4.52pm Weddings at BRC Class 2 Handicap - 1350m

RARE OCCURRENCE Ran fifth behind Winning Rupert in a stakes race at her last start. This is the easiest race she has tackled in a long while. No certainty to start here but if she does she will probably win.

SAYS ME She doesn't win many but is rarely far away in these type of races. Will be running home hard again and should get the run of the race.

MARTIAL ART Has never really lived up to the wrap on him as a younger horse but consistent in this type of race. Good trial effort for his return to racing here and has won first-up.

SELECTIONS: NO 6 RARE OCCURRENCE, NO 3 Says Me, NO 5 Martial Art
