CLAUDIA’S BEAUTY Placed last three Traralgon, Cranbourne, Mornington. Strong showing expected from outside barrier.

GRANGEMOUTH Placed five of seven starts and rates highly again. Resumed with 1.5-length second Sound The Trumpet 1450m Kyneton Maiden 23 December. Fitter now.

SNIPFIT Checked in straight when sound debut fourth Paralell World Cranbourne 23 December. Will be improved.

No 1 ARMENIA (NEXT BEST BET) Highly-rated filly placed four of five starts to date. Raced timidly to turn but worked home strongly when clear for 3.75-length third Aghna 1200m Moonee Valley 16 December. Big drop in class here and looks the winner.




R4 – 8.00pm De Bortoli Yarra Valley BM64 Handicap – 1200m

HAVILDAR Promising type with a good record in stronger city races, including 1200m Sandown Maiden win August and Caulfield placing July. Looks well placed to score first-up here.

ARAPAHO ALIDOR Well-backed when first-up winner 1100m Kyneton Maiden 23 December. Up in class but likely improver.

SCOTOPIA Impressive five-length winner Bairnsdale Maiden 1200m 13 December in fast time. Can make his presence felt.

SHARING Resuming. Scored first-up 1200m Pakenham last February and forward showing expected.

PANDA EYES Model of consistency. Fresh when second 1600m this track 10 December then too good for Cuban Perfection 2000m Kyneton BM58 23 December. Should measure up to class rise here.

JUSTICEFORALL Fitter for three runs this campaign. This is easier than seventh Defence Witness 2040m Moonee Valley 16 December.

RAGAZZO DEL CORSA Runner-up two of last three starts and will be prominent. Jarred-up when seventh La Fleurette 1400m Sandown 21 December then three-length second Dusty Jane 1300m here 30 December.

PRIOR ENGAGEMENT Ran third Warrnambool 1300m 1 December before second to Folk Tunes over this course and distance 30 December. Working towards a win.

OUTDONE Failed three runs in Darwin then well-backed to win 1450m Kyneton Maiden 23 December. This is tougher but has place claims.

ROSEBERRY STREET Unlucky fifth Ty Pan Miss 1400m Wangaratta 6 December then atoned in beating Star Impulse 1419m Sale BM64 22 December. In form and has the class to overcome wide draw.

SHE’LL STRYKEYA Two wins and five placings from nine starts is impressive. Placed Moe BM58 and Mornington BM64 then beat Gauteng Gal Mornington BM58 20 December. Rates highly.

OLIVIA’S GOLD Rarely runs a bad race but burdened with plenty of weight – 60kg with Andreou’s 3kg claim. Will give a sight.

NADEEM’S MELODY Noted speedster with four wins and a third from last five starts. Missed jump slightly but recovered to lead and easily beat Hula Star 1100m Fillies and Mares BM64 Stony Creek 27 December. Facing males here but ideally drawn to lead and win again.

CHATEAU CHEVAL Talented but has proven costly. Came from last for game second to Leodoro over this course and distance first-up 23 December. Fitter now and should be stalking the tear-aways in the run.

WHYCATCHIM Speedy type who led throughout to beat subsequent Sandown winner Toorak Cowboy1000m Mornington 2 December, then game third Annrhon 1121m Geelong 15 December. Will prove hard to run down from inside draw.

TEA TREE GULLY Odds-on favourite first-up when hit rail and raced erratically behind Liberty’s Warrior Benalla 1106m 3 December. Pacy customer produced a win and a second two previous runs. Can bounce back here.
