Wednesday racing from Canterbury this week, we have had plenty of rain over the last week. At time of writing it is very sunny in Sydney and super-hot. But we have a chance of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, but only 5mls on the outlook and I expect it to be a Soft 6 at worst. The meeting itself is quite good and with the rail out 6m the circumference, it may suit the leaders.

QUADDIES (Races 4-5-6-7)

Skinny: 5,6,7 – 1,7 – 4,9,10 – 2
Wide: 1,3,5,6,7,8 – 1,4,5,7 – 2,3,4,7,8,9,10 – 1,3,4,5,7,11

Best Bet: R1 N1 HARPER'S CHOICE
Next Best Bet: R7 N2 YOUR WAY
Best Roughie: R2 N11 MACKELLAR'S LOVE

R1 -1:45PM TAB REWARDS HANDICAP - 1900m

No 1 HARPER'S CHOICE (BEST BET) Should find this race easier than last Monday’s meeting at Randwick. He just got too far back that day and really flew late. The step up to the 1900m looks ideal and a wet track won’t bother going off his win two back at Kembla. From gate 1, he will be in the box seat and should be winning as he is a cut above these.

No 2 GOTHENBURG

No 4 HIGHLEIGH

No 3 WU GOK

R2 – 2:20PM #THERACES HANDICAP - 1250m

TUTU Comes out of a super race on debut that will hold up. The step up to 1250m will suit perfectly and she has a chance.

MACKELLAR'S LOVE (Best Roughie) Comes out of that same race as Tutu and hit the line well. The step up to 1250m should suit and she is big odds.

THE PHAROAH Went super on debut in fast time, that race should hold up quite well going forward and he has a chance.

DREAM I CAN No one would begrudge this horse winning for Ronny Quinton and his family. He has trialled well and has a chance.

SELECTIONS: No 7 TUTU, No 11 Mackellar’s Love, No 1 The Pharoah, No 3 Dream I Can

VALUE RUNNER: No 3 Dream I Can

R3 - 2:55PM HAPPY 50TH ROS SCARLETT HANDICAP - 1100m

SPIRIT AND FIRE His debut win was super in a hot form race and I have forgiven his last start. The trial coming in was good.

MADAME LILY Well set up for a first-up win here off trials. She was scratched last week out of a similar race and Snowden’s are quite picky with what races they choose.

TYPECAST Is a better horse than her form reads. She has trialled in quiet fashion twice and I won’t pay attention to the margin in the last trial as Dothraki and Testashadow “raced”.

GOLDEN SHOES Has been going well as of late in this type of grade and he has his chance yet again.

SELECTIONS: No 3 SPIRIT AND FIRE, No 7 Madame Lily, No 4 Typecast, No 1 Golden Shoes

VALUE RUNNER: No 7 Madame Lily

R4 - 3:35PM TAB.COM.AU HANDICAP - 1550m

PRESCIENCE Gets Bowman here and looks ideally suited second-up. Eight second placings in 13 starts says he a complete bridesmaid. But he gets one last chance here.

GOLD ARTISAN Comes out of a good race last start behind Achi Baba. 1550m is a bit of a query, but off that last start I have to give him one more chance.

FORTENSKY Will be better suited third-up to 1550m. He has hit the line well in both runs and from gate two he will get a perfect run.

MURRAGULDRIE Won well last start and is a winner at the track. The step to 1550m holds no fears for him.

SELECTIONS: No 6 PRESCIENCE, No 7 Gold Artisan, No 5 Fortensky, No 1 Murraguldrie

VALUE RUNNER: No 6 Prescience

R5 – 4:10PM RANVET'S NEUTROLENE HANDICAP - 1900m

MOST EXALTED Gets a perfect run on the map here and brings solid form to this race. The trial between runs, which is a formula that Cummings uses well, was good and he looks a cut above these.

OH SO UNFAIR Has been massive in his last two wins at Wagga against the bias. He has just smashed them. This is the logical next step and look out late.

LITTLE MISS BROWN Comes out of a nice race last Monday at Randwick. She was good when winning previous to that. Gate 10 is a little sticky however.

AUSTIN Gets Glyn on here and this may well suit given how he has been riding of late. Glyn has a knack of getting the best out of these quirky horses.

SELECTIONS: No 1 MOST EXALTED, No 7 Oh So Unfair, No 5 Little Miss Brown, No 4 Austin

VALUE RUNNER: No 7 Oh So Unfair

R6 - 4:45PM HYLAND RACE COLOURS HANDICAP - 1250m

CHAVISH Comes out of a good race last start and should be better suited by the drop back to 1250m. Bowman on from gate 5 he looks to get the perfect run.

PICK ME UP Didn’t get the best of rides last start and has trialled well on two occasions since. Martin’s stable has been going well as of late and good to have them on your side.

HOT VINNI Has been good in open country handicaps as of late, Shinn on board only suits and Northam has an uncanny knack of striking a blow in races such as this.

SATIRICAL MAGIC Has been quite good in recent starts and has another chance to run well here.

SELECTIONS: No 4 CHAVISH, No 9 Pick Me Up, No 10 Hot Vinni, No 2 Satirical Magic

VALUE RUNNER: No 9 Pick Me Up

R7 - 5:25PM TAB HANDICAP - 1200m

No 2 YOUR WAY (NEXT BEST BET) Was backed off the map first-up and beat them quite well in super-fast time (32.8 last 600m). Second-up to 1200m with the Baker stable flying and Clark on from gate 9. She should get the perfect run throughout.

No 3 PINCHME

No 1 CIARLET

No 7 BALMAIN GIRL
