Eagle Farm Betting Preview | Horse Racing Tips

Back to Eagle Farm with the rail out four metres the entire course.

Mon, 9 Jan, 12:00 AM

Back to Eagle Farm with the rail out four metres the entire course. Last meeting was on New Year's Eve where the leaders won most races, but that was speed bias rather than any track bias.

Provided the races are run at a genuine pace early all runners should get their chance. There has been rain about all week and the track will be on the soft side.

Overall it is a typical summer midweek meeting with some very ordinary fields but a few strong chances in a couple of races.

QUADDIES (Races 5-6-7-8)

Skinny: 1,2/5,7/1,7/1,9
Wide: 1,2,4,5/1,3,5,7/1,6,7,8/1,4,6,9

Best Bet: R3 – 2. PRECIPITATE
Next Best Bet: R6 – 5. LA DOLCE VITA
Best Roughie: R4 – 1. COURTING SPIRIT

R1 - 12:25pm WWW.BRC.COM.AU Maiden Plate - 2218m

WHAT'S THAT This is an ordinary standard race but he has some handy form in shorter races. Stepping up sharply in distance but on what he has shown so far should nearly win. He is bred to stay and stable having a good run in maidens.

SIR ROTHEWAY Plodder who has been okay in some staying maidens of late. He has fitness on his side.

BRONTE BABE Good run last start at the Gold Coast and ready for 2200m now.

CANTERBURY KING Form only fair but has been getting fitter and stable can produce a long priced winner.

SELECTIONS: NO 3 WHAT'S THAT, NO 4 Sir Rotheway, NO 6 Bronte Babe, NO 1 Canterbury King

VALUE RUNNER: NO 1 Canterbury King

R2 – 1.05pm HAMILTON HOTEL QTIS Two-Years-Old Fillies Maiden Plate - 1200m

SOUL SECRETS Loomed to win a similar race to this last start but just out slogged in final 100m. Fitter now and ready to win.

CINZIA Will also be fitter for last-start third this track at first run. Looks an improver.

LADY LARK First starter with no official trial but from astute stable and reportedly goes okay.

MISHANI ALLURE Two race starts haven't been bad and should be one of the major players here in a moderate field.

SELECTIONS: NO 6 SOUL SECRETS, NO 2 Cinzia, NO 3 Lady Lark, NO 5 Mishani Alluer

R3 – 1.40pm GALLOPERS SPORTS CLUB Fillies and Mares Class 3 Handicap - 1200m

NO 2 PRECIPITATE (BEST BET) She could not have been more impressive in her three wins from three starts. Has won leading and also coming from behind. She has a top jockey and a good barrier and the opposition is only fair.

R4 – 2.15pm MOUNT FRANKLIN Fillies and Mares Maiden Handicap - 1200m

MISS ARABELLA A few runners in this race have had their share of chances so Miss Arabella as a first starter might be the one. She ran second to High Specs in a recent trial and High Specs won by panels on Sunday. She has top jockey and good barrier.

COURTING SPIRIT (Best Roughie) At her only start she was a good fourth behind some handy horses and she has a 3kgs claim here. Looks a good value bet from nice barrier draw.

SEE MIRACLES She has had a lot of chances but has better form than most of these.

DAWN FIGHTER Very poor at first run back but had no luck and chance on form last campaign.

SELECTIONS: NO 4 MISS ARABELLA, NO 1 Courting Spirit, NO 9 See Miracles, NO 8 Dawn Fighter

VALUE RUNNER: NO 1 Courting Spirit

R5 – 2.50pm GIDDY UP CLUB QTIS Three-Years-Old Colts & Geldings Maiden Handicap - 1400m

MARK MY WORD He was a very good second two runs back this track when many thought he should have won on protest. Then ran into a couple of smart ones at the Gold Coast last start.

CRACKACHARGE Trialled nicely before first-up second at Ipswich when probably should have won.

RIVER FIRE All of his three runs have been solid and is one of the better hopes here.

KIRIN'S LAD Coming back in distance here but recent form solid enough to be a winning chance now.

SELECTIONS: NO 2 MARK MY WORD, NO 1 Crackacharge, NO 4 River Fire, NO 9 Kirin's Lad

R6 – 3.25pm RELAXED RACING BenchMark 75 Handicap - 1000m

NO 5 LA DOLCE VITA (NEXT BEST BET) Very fast mare who has a few tricks up her sleeve. She has been placed in stakes company and was probably one run short when second this track at first-up run. This isn't a bad field but she has class on her side.

R7 – 4.05pm WEDDINGS AT BRC Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 3 Handicap - 1200m

REAL EGO He can mix his form but as he showed at his first run back from a spell he can be dynamic on his day. This race suits and should be hard to beat.

COURTZA KING He was strong at the finish at his first start this area. This distance suits and drawn to get the run of the race.

CRUISE POWER A very impressive win two starts back at Doomben and then didn't have much luck last start in a harder race when fourth.

BEAT STREET Consistent of late and this is a bit easier than most recent runs.

SELECTIONS: NO 6 REAL EGO, NO 1 Courtza King, NO 3 Cruise Power, NO 8 Beat Street

VALUE RUNNER: NO 8 Beat Street

R8 – 4.45pm SKY THOROUGHBRED CENTRAL Class 4 Handicap - 1500m

CORNROW Has never won past 1350m but heavily backed and a good third in a much tougher race over 1400m last start. He should run a strong 1500m.

CHEVAL LE VENT Very promising horse who will be better for two runs from a spell. He is out to his right distance range now.

D'HARMONY Didn't go one metre when well beaten this track last start but previous form strong and this is easier than last time.

SAHARA SIREN Coming back in distance but can be very strong at the end of her races if the pace is on early which it should be here. Loves wet tracks.

SELECTIONS: NO 1 CORNROW, NO 4 Cheval Le Vent, NO 5 D'Harmony, NO 9 Sahara Siren

VALUE RUNNER: NO 9 Sahara Siren
