Trainer Darren Weir looks to hold a strong hand in this meeting and is represented by a strong contingent of runners in the eight races Apprentices are again at the fore, with trainers using their claims to reduce the weight their horses are handicapped to carry. The track is rated perfect for racing as a Good 4 and the rail will be at nine metres for the entire circuit. The weather forecast is fine but overcast.
MR DASHING (BEST BET) is a son of Moshe, who has won at his two starts by a total margin of eight lengths. He returns here from a maiden campaign at Geelong where he excelled on the synthetic track and looks set to continue his formidable form here. James Mott keeps the ride on the three-year-old gelding, who does go up in weight to 60kg from 57.5kg at his last start. He meets only a field of six here and looks one of the best bets on this card.
MAGNETAR has been racing well lately. Should go close.
ZELAMORE is a consistent type. Could well find a place here.
MAGNATTI Is down in class so has to be respected.
SELECTIONS: No1 MR DASHING, No2 Magnetar, No3 Zelamore, No6 Magnatti.
VALUE RUNNER: No3 Zelamore
