GOOD TIMING Never on the track first-up when ran on fairly for 5.75-length third Private Lounge 1200m Echuca Maiden 31 December. Has been brought along slowly and rates highly with extra fitness here.

TOMMY STANDUP Market drifter on debut when fractious in gates and made quick before turn to be handy straightening but plugged home for 4.6-length fifth Mornington 28 December. In strong stable and will be improved.

APOLLO GOLD Fitter for first-up sixth Dream First 1200m Mornington Maiden 28 December. Go on photo third Vodianova 1600m Moe Maiden two runs earlier 23 April. Will be handy.

COUSIN MUSCLES Hit lead 250m but overhauled by Green Light 1512m Yarra Valley Maiden 29 December. Nearing a win.

KAMINDU Jumped well but drifted back before turn, then worked home solidly for two-length fourth to stablemate Ajuda 1400m Echuca Maiden 31 December. Shows promise and will make presence felt.

NAVY BLUE Strong second Street Opera 1612m Kilmore Maiden 12 December then game fourth Linguist 1600m Cranbourne 30 Deeember. Keep safe.

No8 MISS TOMB RAIDER (BEST BET) Enormous effort on debut when she gave the flying Airino eight-lengths start at 500m and ran her to 1.25-lengths 1012m Yarra Valley 29 December. Talented filly with tremendous upside who will be hard to beat with extra distance here.




R6 – 9.00pm Browns Sawdust & Shavings Class BM78 Handicap – 3000m

KING VALOUR Had a 50-day break before beating Savvy Dresser 2050m Moe Maiden 9 December then led throughout 2430m Mornington BM64 28 December. This race isn’t much tougher and he should be able to dictate tactics again.

PRESUMPTION Blinkers come off after fighting second Shampion 2260m Geelong BM58 on Boxing Day. Pakenham 2500m winner November who will measure up.

SAGAAB Mixes form but won 1950m Yarra Valley and 1700m Stony Creek before fading ten-length sixth Stormy Shore Cranbourne last Sunday. Can bounce back here.

AMORTISE Not disgraced two city runs since game second Skyfire 2200m Sale BM58 4 December. Worth some thought.

Should sit handy from inside draw and will take beating.

MORTIFIED Racing well with two wins and two placings last five starts. Hit lead with inside run when 1.25-length second Lunar Spin BM64 Moonee Valley 2 December then battling 3.25-length fourth Electric Aura in high-class BM64 22 December. Honest and gets in close to mares with 1.5kg claim.

SLAM BAM Off the track all the way when courageous seven-length fifth Movie 1523m Moonee Valley Mares BM64 then drove through to grab lead but pipped by Alittle Loose 1512m Mares BM64 29 December. One of the main chances.

WICKED SENSATION Has been improving while stepping up in distance. Chased hard for close fourth Rock And Go 1462m Kilmore Maiden 12 December then finished off strongly to beat Claudia’s Beauty 1500m Mornington Mares Maiden 28 December. Up in class but suited by extra trip.

STARVASIVE Nearing a win. Chased hard first-up when 1.95-length third Northkape BM64 this trip 10 December then set the pace and fought on gallantly for 2.6-length fourth Little Indian Flemington straight 1000m New Year’s day. Has speed to cross from outside gate.

DECONI Should be vastly improved by solid first-up three-length fifth Little Indian Flemington straight 1000m on New Year’s day. Proved herself in quality three-year-old fillies’ races previous campaign and commands respect here.

SCAPPARE Won last two stylishly at Mornington in easier company and should be included in multiples.

ONYA KEITHY Racing consistently and worth some thought. Courageous winner over Anemoi 2040m Moonee Valley BM64 then battled on for 2.9-length fourth Chiatorio 1950m Morphettville BM75 17 December.

CAPTAIN KITTINGER Racing well in easier grade and drops 4kg on last-start win over Riddleofthesphinx 1700m Stony Creek BM58 3 January. Won previous start 2232m Sale BM64 so worthy of consideration.

STORMY SHORE Won two of last four so has claims. Beat Black Chevalier 2025m here BM64 last Friday.
