This is the $10 million Magic Millions race day which always has huge wide open fields in most races.

There are a couple of short priced horses on the card but be careful because this is a day for upsets. It is fairly obvious when you get big fields racing for huge money on a tight track you will get interference. The stewards' report usually runs for pages on this day.

The track should be rated as good but watch out for storms which can hit any old time in the summer.

QUADDIES (Races 6-7-8-9)

Skinny: 1-3-7-12/1-9/1-2-11/2,14
Wide: 1-3-7-12/1-2-9/1-2-11-13/1-2-4-14

Best Bet: R3 – 5. MADOTTI
Next Best Bet: R5 – 3. EGYPTIAN SYMBOL
Best Roughie: R7 – 9. ECKSTEIN

R1 – 11.40am PACIFIC FAIR MAGIC MILLIONS Maiden Plate - 1200m

REGIMENTAL FORCE Promising Sydney horse who has been set for this race. Good effort at Canterbury last start when third and has had a trial since. He will need some luck from the barrier but should finish strongly here with a clear run.

DORTMUND Beautifully bred galloper who won two trials before solid second at his only start. He has trialled since in handy fashion but is another who will need luck from the barrier. Still a top chance.

HUSSON BOOTS Probably the best of the Queensland horses in a field dominated by interstate runners. He has been placed five of seven starts and has each-way hopes here.

ZAFINA New South Wales form is okay for a race like this and is down in the weights with a barrier which suits his racing style. Not the worst here.

SELECTIONS: NO 5 REGIMENTAL FORCE, NO 3 Dortmund, NO 15 Husson Boots, NO 11 Zafina

VALUE RUNNER: NO 11 Zafina

R2 - 12.15pm SKY THOROUGHBRED CENTRAL MAGIC MILLIONS COUNTRY CUP - 1200m

QUEEN TARA Struck her best form at second run back from a spell. This isn't all that much harder and has top jockey Jeff Lloyd from a perfect barrier. The one to beat.

IRISH CONSTABULARY Due to an ownership dispute he didn't start racing until he was seven but hasn't he made up for lost time. Very consistent and although he has paid the price at the weights he is a definite top hope.

CREDIT CARD MISS Widely travelled mare who at her best would test this field. Probably just needs to lift a few notches but can race well from the inside barrier.

RED SCARLET Has been racing well at the Gold Coast so knows this track. Has shown plenty of promise and this should suit.

SELECTIONS: NO 3 QUEEN TARA, NO 1 Irish Constabulary, No 4 Credit Card Miss, NO 6 Red Scarlet

VALUE RUNNER: NO 6 Red Scarlet

R3 – 12.50pm UBET MAGIC MILLIONS QTIS OPEN - 1300m

NO 5 MADOTTI (BEST BET) Smart but unlucky mare who finally gets a dry track, a light weight and a good barrier. It is hard to remember a horse who has had so much bad luck in big races. This is her chance to win one.

NO 3 STEEL ZIP

NO 6 IN HIS STRIDE

NO 1 MISS COVER GIRL

R4 – 1.25pm MOET & CHANDON MAGIC MILLIONS TROPHY- 2200m

STRATUM STAR This isn't the strongest $1million race you will ever see and Stratum Star is a Group one class horse. He has plenty of weight but lengths on these in ability and should win.

COL 'N' LIL She showed the benefit of a trip to Sydney when a strong last-start winner. The 2200m won't trouble and she is very well weighted here which suits because she is a small horse.

FELTRE He was second in this race last year when many felt he should have won. He is stepping up in distance here and would probably be better on a wet track but has strong hopes any conditions.

BOOM TIME Has very good Victorian form for this. We usually don't like tipping Victorian horses at their first go the clockwise direction but he has class on his side.

SELECTIONS: NO 1 STRATUM STAR, NO 4 Col 'N' Lil, NO 5 Feltre, NO 3 Boom Time

VALUE RUNNER: NO 5 Feltre

R5 – 2.00pm IT'S LIVE! IN QUEENSLAND MAGIC MILLIONS Fillies & Mares - 1300m

NO 3 EGYPTIAN SYMBOL (NEXT BEST BET) She has been racing very well and won a good quality race at Wyong last start. Rarely runs a bad race and was unlucky in the Magic Millions Guineas last year. Well drawn and not harshly weighted.

NO 6 KINSHACHI

NO 13 NOTONYOURLIFE

NO 2 I AM ZELADY

R6 – 2.35pm WOODFORD RESERVE MAGIC MILLIONS CUP - 1400m

MOST IMPORTANT Has been in rare winning form taking the Brisbane summer triple crown. This is harder but he is down in the weights and has had a freshen up. Can lead or just race off the pace here.

HOPFGARTEN It has been a while since he won but he has got right down in the weights here and has been around the places of late. Some rain wouldn't hurt but he is racing well enough to win in any conditions.

LUCKY HUSSLER Group One winner who has plenty of weight here. Won this race last year and although not in as good a form in recent times he's still hard to beat on a track where he did his original racing.

LOYALITY MAN Has been racing very well of late and looks the best value runner here in a very tough race.

SELECTIONS: NO 2 MOST IMPORTANT, NO3 Hopfgarten, NO 1 Lucky Hussler, NO 12 Loyalty Man

VALUE RUNNER: NO 12 Loyalty Man

R7 – 3.15pm GOLD COAST MAGIC MILLIONS 3YO GUINEAS - 1400m

WINNING RUPERT He will start one of the shortest priced favourites in Magic Millions history and why wouldn't he? He is unbeaten in five starts and at three wins to date this campaign has run two course records. You would think only bad luck can beat him although a slight query at 1400m.

ECKSTEIN (Best Roughie) She looks the only danger on recent form to the favourite. She has won her past three starts with the latest a win against older horses when she overcame difficulties. If the favourite can't run a strong 1400m he will need to be finishing fast. She is third favourite but still big odds.

GLOBAL GLAMOUR The winner of two Group One races she was well beaten first-up but was mentioned four times in the stewards reports. Had no luck that race.

RIVER RACER A very honest filly who is always an each-way hope these races. One thing she will be running home hard and has a knock out chance.

SELECTIONS: NO 1 WINNING RUPERT, NO 9 Eckstein, NO 2 Global Glamour, NO 12 Rive Racer

VALUE RUNNER: NO 9 Eckstein

R8 – 3.55pm JEEP MAGIC MILLIONS 2YO CLASSIC - 1200m

OURS TO KEEP Hard to fault his form with three wins from three starts. One of the few top chances who has drawn a good barrier and that suits his racing style. Has a big race jockey and has had a perfect lead up.

HOUTZEN Brilliant filly who has to overcome a very wide barrier. She has plenty of early pace but the question is whether it will tell at the end. All down to the early tempo here.

FROM WITHIN She will have to overcome history to win this race at only her second start. No horse has ever done it. But she could not have been more impressive in her only start win.

GOODFELLA Eye-catching effort when second at Eagle Farm last start. Probably wants 1400m and a big track but if the leaders start to fold watch out for him.

SELECTIONS: NO 1 OURS TO KEEP, NO 11 Houtzen, NO 13 From Within, NO 2 Goodfella

VALUE RUNNER: NO 2 Goodfella

R9 – 4.40pm MYER MAGIC MILLIONS SPRINT - 1200m

HIDDEN PEARL Very fast mare who was dynamic first-up with a runaway win. Has the pace to lead this field fairly easily and should be fitter for first-up win when she ran very fast time. The last 50m will be the testing material but she should handle it.

DOTHRAKI Honest horse who does usually race well these type of races in Queensland. He will need some luck late in the race but big hope.

TARGET IN SIGHT This is the ideal race for him as he likes the pace on. He has drawn the rails and will be thereabouts at the finish. The stable usually performs well each Millions day.

CHARLIE BOY He has had a stable switch and is back in his right grade here. Has performed well in Group One and Two company so suited here.

SELECTIONS: NO 14 HIDDEN PEARL, NO 2 Dothraki, NO 4 Target In Sight, NO 1 Charlie Boy

VALUE RUNNER: NO 4 Target In Sight
