Midweek racing comes to us from Warwick Farm, all of the big boys are back from Christmas holidays / New Year’s breaks now. The carnival is just around the corner and we have some nice conveyances entered to run here. The rail is out 3m the circumference and we may get a shower on race day and the track will be slow at worst.

QUADDIES (Races 4-5-6-7)

Skinny: 1,2,3,5 – 9 – 5,6 – 2,3,5
Wide: 1,2,3,4,5 – 1,5,7,9 – 1,2,5,6 – 2,3,5

Next Best Bet: R1 N1 GAUGUIN
Best Roughie: R5 N5 AUSSIE JAMES

R1 - 1:45PM #THERACES HANDICAP - 1400m

No 1 GAUGUIN (Next Best Bet) Was really good in a hot form race on debut, he got really far back and launched late. The step up to 1400m at his second race start looks ideal and if he has taken any improvement from that run he should be winning here.

No 6 PHILOSOPHY (Best Bet) Was massive when first-up in over two years at Newcastle. She has above average ability and must have more to come as she is owned by Godolphin and being well bred it’s a surprise she hasn’t been retired. Doyle, who is in great form as of late, jumps aboard here and she gets all favors from the gate.

R3 - 2:55PM VINERY HANDICAP - 1400m

TEST THE WORLD Was massive last start at Canterbury when wide throughout and was run down in the shadows of the post. 1400m now suits and she will be hard to beat.

CASSADEE Was a big winner on debut at Randwick. She was tough on speed and raced away. Gai’s team really starting to fire now and have to keep them on side.

INVINCIBLE GEM Comes out of a hot form race last start which produced Flying Jess and Improvement winning on Saturday. Following that form this filly has a chance.

ARCHANGEL Let down with a really good turn of foot last start when winning, with improvement to come from that she has a chance.

SELECTIONS: No 7 TEST THE WORLD, No 1 Cassadee, No 2 Invincible Gem, No 4 Archangel

VALUE RUNNER: No 2 Invincible Gem

R4 - 3:35PM TAB HANDICAP - 2200m

EL NOVIO Gets his chance to breakthrough this time in after a good grounding run last start at Randwick. Bowman aboard gives him his chance.

ELATUS Won well last start at the track, he had some good form around him previous to that and he will be hard to beat again.

PLYMOUTH ROAD Has had a stable change since his last run and was solid enough in his trial for James Cummings. His form previous to that was good enough.

DYLAN'S ROMANCE Was a good winner at Canterbury in a driving finish last start. The step up to 2200m now looks ideal as she was tough through the line.

SELECTIONS: No 3 EL NOVIO, No 5 Elatus, No 1 Plymouth Road, No 2 Dylan’s Romance

VALUE RUNNER: No 1 Plymouth Road

RIGHT AS RAIN Won really well in fast time first-up (32.74 last 600m). She should only improve for that run and if she can go on with it, she should win.

AUSSIE JAMES (Best Roughie) Is a 1000m speed ball and will be suited by Warwick Farm as he will be able to roll along into that turn and kick off the bend. His last two wins have been solid.

INVINCIBLE DAME Comes out of a solid race first-up at the provincials. It was run in fast time and must be followed. Collett on from gate 5 gives him every chance.

KNOTTED Has had two trials leading in and the most recent one was really good. First-up he looks ready to go.

SELECTIONS: No 9 RIGHT AS RAIN, No 5 Aussie James, No 7 Invincible Dame, No 1 Knotted

VALUE RUNNER: No 5 Aussie James

R6 - 4:45PM TAB.COM.AU HANDICAP - 1400m

DORF STAR Has really hit top form this time in and has been strong winning his last two. I see no reason why he cannot do it again.

I AM IMPRESSED Was good last start behind Invincible Knight and that race looks good coming into a race such as this.

SNITZEL KNIGHT Finds a weaker race than last start and has been going well as of late, just not sure if he is giving his all at the minute.

MORTAR PLATOON I know nothing about his form, but he has a good record and the trial leading in was good.

SELECTIONS: No 5 DORF STAR, No 6 I Am Impressed, No 1 Snitzel Knight, No 2 Mortar Platoon

VALUE RUNNER: No 6 I Am Impressed

TAHSIN Has been very good in winning his last two, he may well be something special over the next 12 months as a stayer and I’m excited to see him progress.

DIVINE SANCTION Returned well enough at Kembla, second-up with fitness improvement at his home track he has a chance.

CALIFORNIA FORTUNE Won well last start and gave nothing else any chance. He came home in a slick sectional that day. He may well do the same again.

WHO IS GAME Was good last start at the T&D. He drops in weight for that effort and has a chance again.

SELECTIONS: No 3 TAHSIN, No 2 Divine Sanction, No 4 California Fortune, No 8 Who Is Game

VALUE RUNNER: No 8 Who is Game
